FOG missile

That's the AFT-10 Missile, which is related with the CM-501G N-LOS (Non Line Of Sight) fiber-optic guided missile seen at the Zhuhai Airshow 2012 and previously on the new ZBD04A ATGM carriers. It's the Chinese version of the XM-501, enabling the PLA to snipe tanks from up to 70km while the launching unit is hidden behind terrain obstacles and requires no line-of-sight to the target. It is now equipped in the artillery units of the 38th GA, Beijing MR.

The US system:

The AFT-10 has only 10km max-range though and should be a ligther and smaller variant equipped on helicopters, ATGM carriers (the ZBD04A) and maybe even infantry-portable. The larger CM-501G is mounted on a truck-chassis with a 18 missiles MRLS system.

The missile utilizes a man-in-the-loop guidance, meaning that the launch operator actually "drives" the missile and steers in into the target.

Images show CCTV-7 leaks of the launch control units. Note how the operator is steering one missile into a target with his two joysticks.

This system being deployed is an actual revolution in terms of anti-tank fire-support for the PLA, who had to rely on rather obsolete SACLOS/laser-beam riding -guided missile systems before.

any more info about CM-501G, such as dimension and range.
all chinese FOG are rocket power. but one can not rule out possibility of microjet power FOG in the future..during the 2010 zhuhai airshow, several mircrojet are among the display in the show room. mirco jet could power drone and missile.

The CM-501G is quite certainly jet-powered. It has a range of 70km and is launched by a PHL-chassis (Chinese Wheeled MRLS) - for comparisson, the US XM501 has a range of only 40km and is jet-powerd, while the LAM (loitering attack munition) with 72km range is micro-jet powered. The smaller variants, such as the AFT-10 (perhaps the man-packable version) and the version on the ZBD04A ATGM carrier might be rocket powered.

Quite certainly, this missile is one of the most exciting new developments for the recently relatively neglected PLA Ground Forces. For the first time, China possesses a highly accurate non-line-of-sight tank-killing capability. Future Chinese ATGM teams will be happy since they do not need to carry around a unwieldly HJ-8 launcher and spare rounds anymore, but just a compact laser-designator, range finder and GPS/Beidou receiver, to call in pinpoint-accurate death and destruction for enemy tanks from rear line "anti-tank artillery" in form of CM-501G MRLS.

And with the AFT-10 manpacked missle, the PLA also has a Spike-like ATGM that should beat the Javelin in versatility and lethality.

possibility of 100 plus km range is possible.since brazil already producing 150km range FOG missile.
3 version already been identified, one AFT-10,compliment HJ-9 ,AFT-11 ,light weight fire and forget ATGM similiar to javelin and CM-501G.
or even a HJ-10 with a IR imaging seeker.

One thing for sure, the designations are all pretty weird. It seems, from this Zhuhai chart, that the old HJ (HongJian) is indeed a legacy designation now replaced by "AFT" in its ground-based version (FT = "Fan TanKe", meaning "Anti-Tank"): AFT-8 (HJ-8), AFT-9 (HJ-9), AFT-10 (New NLOS missile comparable to "Spike") and AFT-11 (New NLOS missile probably comparable to "GILL").

Previously air-launched versions of the HongJian-missiles are now all designated "AKD" (KD = "Kong Di", meaning "Air-Ground"), such as ADK-8 (air-launched HJ-8), AKD-9 (NOT! the air-launched HJ-9 but apparently a shorter-range version of the AKD10 with 6km vs. 8km) and then the AKD10/Export: "BlueSword-10" (HJ-10) which is featured on the Z-10 and Z-19 attack choppers, as well as on the Pterodactyl UCAV.

So, the HJ-designation is apparently obsolete.

Also, more on the Spike:

I'm especially excited to see the Fire and Forget - Plus mode being deployed by the PLA during excercises.

Ah, yeah. Here it is:
