In that case the guard/handle would only be needed if the user is going to put some kind of optic device on the rifle. There are many firearms with reciprocating charging handles that are not recessed into any kind of guard, and they are usually in areas more inconvenient for the user (on the sides), but more convenient for optics.

We might want to move the rest of this to the QBZ thread. but I more or less agree. A better option IMO would be some thing like the sight bridge on the G36 with a replacement for the shark fin based being a T shaped set of tabs on either side or a design again akin to the G36.

Is it just me or does the digital camo type they use in the picture above^^^, looks like it was created in the Windows paint program using the spray can and zoomed in, thats installed on almost every computer?

Nope.. that's the PLAN digital cammo as it appears. the US navy has a similar somewhat darker cammo.

I doubt it's that simple Bernard. Pixilated camo patterns are created using a computer algorithm to create "Screens" into these screens the color pallet is then selected along with the percentages and wanted distribution. Now the PLA patterns are what I like to call second generation Pixilated (Note I use that term not Digital, as Multicam, ATACS, Kryptex Leaf and a few other new "Blotch" based patterns made in the last decade are computer generated.) I call it second generation as first generation in my view was the work of Lt Col. Timothy O'neill and his

of the 70-80's Second Generation was CADPAT who's screens were used to develop Marpat woodland and Desert as well as ACU this is simply color dispersion wit no regard to placement. Gen 2.5 is Jordanian's KA2 pattern when the designers began considering the micro and Macro patterns Gen Three is OCP/Atacs/ and the latest stuff from Hyperstealth where in it starts using All of that and IR manipulation

Well the point is that with the QBZ your check cannot ever get low enough to rest on the stock. You therefore repeatedly introduce an error in aim that gets magnified the further out you go. The rifle's zero depends on consistent alignment of 3 points: your eye, the back sight, and the front sight. If the position of your eye can wander from shot to shot as it's more likely to do with no cheek weld, your accuracy suffers. Cheek weld is one of the most basic fundamentals of shooting, along with breathing, trigger control, natural point of aim, etc. This is less important in a combat situation where you have to shoot and scoot, suppression fire, urban combat situations, and so on. But if you want to be accurate with any kind of long range shot, get a good cheek weld or go home.

Does the British soldiers needs a "good cheek weld" on their L85A1 assault rifle?

How's this for a "cheek weld" for a QBZ?

Long range shooting accuracy rests on practice, muscle memories and acquaintance of the weapon one's using.

There's that antiquated pistol shooting stance again. Are they using Patton as a Training film? Open that eye and learn a Weaver please.

I thought shooting from your side suppose to help reduce your overall body size profile, therefore making oneself "smaller" for the enemy to shoot at?

first issue yes you can to be a small target but look at her placement her shooting arm is way out there the gun is unsupported and although it's likely to have light recoil it will still recoil.

Next she's got one eye closed that's going to throw off her peripheral vision and cause every thing to be shifted in her plain of view as well as eliminate her ability to estimate range. She is Focusing on her target so much that something could come up on her.

And in that case The weapon is unguarded. There is no way to defend it. or reinforce her grip. Also she has to be taught that technique which takes longer as It shares nothing with her rifle technique.

The standard of the west is usually a weaver based stance where in the Handgun is supported by both hands allowing for better recoil control, The grip is renforced and the support hand can be used to defend. The Stance shares basics with Rifle firing and finally every thing is balanced to allow movement.
And finally one can still be at a angle
