Which platform is more stealthy - F-22 or F-35? The answer is it depends. The F-22 is designed with a RCS profile that is more stealthy than the F-35 but the F-35 is better able to dynamically adjust its RSC profile relative to active threats due to its better sensor system

Marketing.
They try to move the goalpost from the quantifiable, easy to measure ( speed, altitude, weapon load, thrust,RCS profile ) characteristic to less objective ones, like situation awareness , capability to map out hard to simulate threat characteristic, sensor fusion and so on.

First depends on the measurable data, second depends on the expected threat profile and the training level of the pilots .But the training is expensive , due to the high maintenance cost.

(dated 29 March, 2019) doesn't say how many aircraft the squadron comprises now; is it still 1 (one)?

asking because Jan 31, 2018

No like for you here Bub, the article you're quoting is 18 months old, it NOT news, its ancient history in this process, the Japanese FACO had to use parts from other suppliers when assembling their initial fighter aircraft, as the Japanese parts weren't up to spec's at that time.. no F-35's were built with those parts, its a supplier issue, not an airplane issue... again, that was nearly two years ago....

Well if that's intriguing just wait until we tell the Turks NO on the F-35, and all that production capability has to be rebuilt somewhere else?? I don't know, Erdogan is playing a losing game for Turkey here, those F-35s would have been amazing capability for Turkey.. but who needs an un-reliable partner at such a high level, I don't!
