I didn't find the exact source because it is very old news, but I found a related article.

I'm actually surprised you didn't know this Jeff, about the US making policies to keep the Israelis ahead of the Arabs in military technology, to the point where US taxpayers are paying for the Israeli F-35s.

I am aware of a tradition and of actions in the past...but please, do not try and make this conversation about me.

You did not say that there was a traition, or that there had been a tendancy. You said that there was a deal between the US and Israel to not allow sales to specific nations for a specific number of years.

There is no such formal deal or agreement that I am aware of and that is why I asked for a source. You have not provided one to document your assertion.

The only thing in the Reuters article you just linked to related to this is :

Article said:
Government officials and industry experts have said they do not expect Washington to allow the sale of the F-35 to Gulf countries until around 2020, just short of five years after Israel receives its first F-35 fighters in 2016.

This does not speak to any "deal," treaty, or official arrangement. It simply states that unnamed officials and so-called "experts," do not "expect" it.

That is far different than there being a formal agreement in place.

Please try and be a little more exacting in your language.

This same thing got you in difficulty on the PAKFA thread about the 600kmph statement and the rotating 180 degrees without slowing down.

That has raised the issue about such statements and the need for them to be accurate.

Here on SD, as the rules indicate, we try and be as professional and as accurate as possible. It is a big part of why we have the reputation we have as such a good, professional, accurate and informative forum/site. Many of us have worked well over ten years here to establish and maintain that.

We want to continue to maintain that reputation and these types of things are a part of that.

------------------------------------

...and, as to you later post.

ABB, this is not about patience. This about accuracy.

Simply do not make a declarative, definitive claim if you do not know it is so. If you do not know it is so...then state as much

I asked you for a source AFTER you made the claim.

Ay that point it is too late to be patient because you made a definitive claim.

If I had not asked...I doubt you would have said any more about it and it would have just stood as if though it were fact. But, in fact, it is not fact. As far as I know, there is no such official, formal agreement to do what you have stated. There is a "tradition," of certain administrations doing things like this...and that is what you should have said and there would have been no issue.

Pleas re-read the first part of my post here.

THAT is what this discussion is about.

Nobody cares about F-35 in US homeland.

Edit. F-35 is no best fighters even the are finest planes in world with PAK-50.

Jeez, Sivestre, what do you mean by, "Nobody cares about F-35 in US homeland."

That is simply a ridiculous statement.

This thread is not about ...as I have stated before...chest thumping comments like the F-35 vs the PAKFA or the "finest planes in the world.". Do not make such posts.

The rest of your post is not even about the F-35 and this is an F-35 thread. Please stay on topic.

This is policy, not tradition or tendency, and is part of every contract with Israel. This policy is defined in the US laws, the most recent being 2008.

Further reading indicates the delay is not a strict but flexible depending on a 4 yearly assessment by the President. So if we are talking about the F-35, it probably depends on how soon the F-35 comes into service and the other capabilities of the Arabs by then. So it can be more than that 5 year, or less than 5 years.

Anyway, with a large delay before negotiations commence with an Arab country and the first delivery happens, the Israelis would actually have a roughly 10 year lead in operating the F-35.

US Program Chief: Singapore Nearing F-35 Buy
Singapore is moving closer to ordering the Lockheed Martin F-35 joint strike fighter, according to program head US Lt. Gen. Chris Bogdan.

Bogdan also noted increased activity from potential foreign military sales (FMS) customers for the F-35, including Israel, which recently committed to a further 14 aircraft.

"On the FMS sales front we're getting an increase in customer interest in the airplane," he said here at the Australian International Airshow at the Avalon Airport.

"We have a number of other [potential] foreign military sales customers that are asking us to start a greater dialogue with them in terms of the airplane, including Singapore."

Bogdan said that the joint program office (JPO) has been exchanging information with the Republic of Singapore Air Force for a number of years to support their decision making within their timeline.

"Over the past year, the discussions we have had have deepened [and] their request for information has gotten broader, so that would indicate to us that Singapore has begun to take the next step toward making a decision," he said.

The government of Singapore had not indicated which F-35 variant it was interested in and had requested information on all three: the conventional takeoff, the short-takeoff vertical-landing, and the carrier model.

Bogdan hosted a media roundtable on the opening day of Avalon 2015 with Australia's F-35 program head, Air Vice Marshal Chris Deeble. Deeble said the project to acquire 72 conventional F-35s for the Royal Australian Air Force was on track to deliver an initial operating capability by the end of 2020.

However, Deeble identified several areas that were causing him concern, noting that the Australian project office carries out an independent analysis of the technical problems.

"Understanding what capability we will get at the end of the development phase is really important," he said.

"What does worry me is sustainment and training and support to the aircraft. The autonomic logistics global system is still evolving. It is behind, it is late and we have to do more work to accelerate that and understand what that means in a national context."

Yes...as expected.

The World-wide F-35 beat goes on...despite detractors.

It is clear that all of these professionals in all of these countries know something more about this program and the aircraft's capabilities than all of the detractors. These are clearly not cheap, or light decisions. They are decisions being made for the security of these nations and their peoples.

13 nation's by F-35's of Islamic Republic Singapore.

My apologies for being so direct Silvestre, but I cannot follow the meaning or point in even your single line posts. And there are a lot of single line posts :)

Your english appears not so bad in some and pretty terrible in others. I would suggest entering your native thoughts into Google Translate and then post the english conversion to the board. Or are you just trying to build up your post count?
