Chinese Wikipedia lists 053H1 frigate 533 Taizhou as retired but has no associated date. In August 2018 hmmwv posted on CDF that Taizhou was scheduled to be retired, but it is not clear if/when this actually occurred, i.e. late 2018 or 2019. Does anyone have further information regarding the status of this ship or her similarly-aged sisters?

Type 053H1 534 Jinhua decommissioned on 28 april 2019.

Down to 51 frigates:

30x054A
2x054
8x053H3
1x053H2
6x053H1G
4x053H1

One would imagine that 051 109 Kaifeng will be the next surface combatant to retire, given that it was commissioned in 1982 whereas 534 Jinhua was commissioned in 1983.

With the recent retirement of 053H1 #545 Linfen, PLAN is down to three 053H1s in service and it seems likely that the others will be gone within the next year or two.

Two Jiangweis given away to the Bangladesh Navy. Note the two PLAN frigates on the background of the third pic. 549 is degaussing, and in previous pics she was undergoing some maintenance. 525 is a Type 054 that appears stripped for a mid like refit.

Chinese Wikipedia lists 053H frigate 553 as retired in 2019, with only two units of the type remaining in service: 543, 555. No source is listed. Can anyone confirm/deny that 053H inventory is now down to only two units?

There was a recent article about PLAN warships being able PLAN units replenishing from a civilian ship. Might sound unrelated but one of the warships involved was a Jiangwei.

Oh here it is.

Noticed that Chinese Wikipedia is also listing 053H2 frigate 537 as retired as of August 2019.

Assuming Chinese Wikipedia is accurate, the current lineup is...

30x054A
2x054
8x053H3
6x053H1G
2x053H1

Total 48 frigates.

NOT latest news but it just came cross me that, with transfer of Jiang Wei II (053H3) class vessels, Bangledesh becomes the 2nd country that use both HHQ-7 and HHQ-10 (FL3000, export version) missiles simultaneously. Not even Pakistan, so far.
