I tried to make the best out of it on Google Translate but you know how that is.. did the CIWS lit them up on land?
From the translation it appears that the terrorists were trying to board the frigate while it was still in port... not some hijacking out at sea.
Also for the CIWS to directly engage human targets it would most certainly require human controls (manual mode) and I would really hate to be shot by CIWS.

I guess the Chinese page came from the following WSJ link.

"While those on board the ship continued to fight it out for a few hours, the ones in the inflatable boat had no chance, security officials said. The gunner ripped apart the boat with his Gatling antiaircraft gun, killing all six in the boat."

Although it is referred as "Gatling AA gun" in the wsj report, the only one gatling AA gun of F-22P is its 730 CIWS. No one is happy to be shot by Gatling. :)

I think they had only an extremely short time to be unhappy.

Not to mention the collateral damage and mayhem it would cause all along the arc of fire from that weapon. Those things literally shoot 6-8 thousands of rounds per minute, like 75 rounds per second or more.

I personally have to seriously doubt that the 730 CIWS was used to engage a half dozen terrorists trying to board the ship from the dock. The chance for destroying a lot of their own equipment and firing right through buildings and potentially killing or injuring their own personnel would just be too great.

Would really like to see some official word and documentation on this...but I doubt we will get it.

This is completely bogus reporting no CIWS was used to shot at terrorists, the F22P frigate was docked and in port side the automatic CIWS was probably not even activated and I doubt it was used in the dark in manual mode

PN dockyard stations special naval forces who job it is to specifically stop a terror attack same for the Kamra air base more than 7,000 extra security has been deployed to secure the areas

The article said one of the dead terrorists was a former Pakistani Navy officer who was discharged for harbouring extremist views.

Inside knowledge could explain why they made it close to the ship.
