Forbin indicates (below) that the Tornados are not being replaced by the initial 72 Eurofighters and that they are being upgraded...and that expensive upgrade means they will stay on into the middle future at least..

I forgot about that expensive upgrade...and you are exactly right.

So will the Eurofighters replace some of the older F-15s?

I think the Saudi ADV Tornados were taken out of service in 2007. The IDS fleet completed it's upgrade (Tornado Sustainment Program) in 2013. New avionic displays, comms, GPS. They also got new weapons: Storm Shadow, Brimstone and supposedly Paveway IV. Back then the plan was to keep them relevant until at least 2020.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — In an effort to extend its F-15 business, Boeing unveiled a new upgrade package for the F-15C design — one specifically targeting an air superiority gap left from the decision to cut production on the F-22.

The new design, part of an effort dubbed "F-15 C2040" by the company, would double the number of air-to-air weapons carried by the F-15C from eight to 16 while adding conformal fuel tanks for enhanced distance.

It would also feature updated electronics, including a long-range Infra-Red Search and Track (IRST) sensor and the already planned Eagle Passive/Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS). It would also feature an updated AESA radar.

IOW, exactly what some of us were speculating about when seeing the F-15SA weapons load the Saudis have.

A couple of hundred of those updated F-15C2040s along with the 180+ F-22s, and then 1,700 F-35s should tie the US Air Fore over more than nicely until the 6th gen aircraft come out.

Air Force have 200 which 155 CJ and 45 DK, 84 modernised with APG-63(V)1 and only 8 with APG-63(V)3 all use AAM-4 anti-air missiles others 108 no modernised armed with old AIM-7.

6 Combat Sqns equiped with about 20/25 F-15 and a Agressor unit with 12.

16 AAM it is actually the maximum for F-22 after about 8/10 up to 12 for 4/4.5 generation fighters and others 4/8 depends.

Right now F-35 can carry up to 10 AAM, 4 int + 6 ext after with Block 4 possible up to 16 : 6 int ( 2 by main hard points ) + 10 ext, 2 on each main hard points as the F-22, Block 4 for 2021.

"When we look at the stress tests we've done on the f15c and were doing on the f15 and f16 there are issues were gonna have to do for service life extension with respect to the structural integrity of the airplane, so were working on those and what were gonna have to do in the future

One F-15 in test has yet exceeded 10000 h and Boeing hope up to 18000 h !!!
It is a good boy and also F-16/18 are highly resistant planned up to 10000 h with Hornet and Super Hornet SLEP.
