Experiment ship 892 finally in service

Named after Mathematician Hua Luogeng, who was born in 1910, professor of University of Illinois before he returned to China in 1949, then became the director of Mathematics institute then vice president of China Academy of Science. He died in 1985 on an academic presentation in Tokyo.

What exactly is is for? A specific program or is it a NOAA sort of general oceanic research vessel? The fact that it is named for a mathmetician makes me think that it is designed to test higher technology. If so, we here at SDF should keep an eye on this fine ship.

892 is like 891, it is used to test out the latest sensors and weapons. So, we can expect new naval radars and SAMs to be put on this ship eventually.

That's what I like to hear! :china: But knowing the PLAN as we do, everyone here knows that they're very secretive, so we probably won't see a whole lot of this ship in public.
