DefenceTalk Military Gallery box annoying!

That DefenceTalk Military Gallery box on the left hand side of the screen is so annoying it should be removed all the forum is on the right and the left is taken taken up by the DefenceTalk Military Gallery box which is nothing but a eye-swore.

Whos idea was that to have a panel on the left it makes the forum look so bad and you keep thinking that something is missing on the left is there anyway u can remove that annoying box?

I do like the Defense News box and it can be handy, but am agreed with asif about the DefenseTalk Forum and World Affairs Talk Forum boxes; they're a bit of a distraction, and some of the thread topics listed don't lend themselves to encouraging a rather higher level of discussion here on SDF. Presumably, though, since DefenseTalk shares its space with us, we can't do much about that, but it would be nice to dispense with their Forums' new threads feeds, and go with their News feeds instead. I kind of like those.

SinoDefenceForum is part of a network of websites so topics from other sites are syndicated here as SDF's posts are syndicated on other sites in the same network.

Although, defense/strategic security issues/military topics and politics go hand in hand, we've separated politics from both DefenseTalk and SinoDefence because of the problems they cause when emotions run high. That is why world affairs talk was created.

As far as the sidebar is concerned, sidebars and columns are part of the websites on the net. All websites have some type of column or sidebar to accommodate content and less scroll for the users. I will see what we can do with it.

Also, consider using 1024x768 or more screen resolution... 800x600 is so 1999.

Couuldn't we just have it the old way of palcing them on top or on the bottom? It is really annoying. I believe most people would like to see the photoes in full size.

I've decreased the size of the sidebar, so that should help.

Also, moved the pictures on the top, like it use to be. We can't put "full size" pictures on the page here thats why thumbnails are displayed so if user wants to see the picture, they click the link to the big size picture.
