What an amazing few weeks it has been. We have seen all of this:

Three new aircraft carriers taking to the water...all of them a credit to each of their nations...not to mention the Type 55 and that new JMSDF DDG.

...hold on to your hats because more is coming too.

Pardon me Moderator, but "new JMSDF DDG"?…I'm not sure if you mean Asahi class(successor to Akizuki class), or 27DDG('8,200トン型護衛艦' in Japanese I think)

I was talking about the 1st 25DD, which is the Asahi that I showed.

I believe next for the Japanese will be the follow on pair of Atagos...the much larger AEGIS ships that they are planning.

But they are also planning a larger nuimber of new frigates as well.

Anyhow...my point was that there has been a lot of new designs coming forward here all at once. Quite the naval upbuild from many nations.

The Chinese, with the new carrier and now on its very heals the Type 055, are really putting on quite a show of production and design. Very good vessels and built quickly and precisely.

YEs...lots of outfitting still to do.

But she is in the water and floating now.

I look forward to the day in a number of months when they do that dock side test of the engines.

Then you will know she is getting close to her initial builders trials.

I haven't seen anyone post this video

Exclusive: Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning conducts trans-regional training after setting out from east China's Qingdao about a week ago.

The Liaoning will visit Hong Kong later this week to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army being stationed in Hong Kong.
