Keep it civil, guys, please.

Anyway, I've heard some rumours flying around (take this with a grain of salt) on the Chinese boards that it will be another 7-8 months until launch (around April 2017).

The claims were apparently made by General Yi Zhuo on a televised talk show. The understanding appears to be that they want to make sure everything on board is perfect and ready before floating her out, and to minimize the amount of work to be done on the water.

I'll see if I can dig up my source later. If you guys haven't realized by now, I mainly refer to CJDBY for information. :D

USN have commisionned btw 1986 - 1998 all the 3 years 1 CVN much more big and capable and we have see also with USSR more impressive things and in more big qty also... ;)

And the 2 Clemenceau commissioned in two years nah :p:)

You can't compare USN with PLAN different time frames different needs.
USN has been making carriers for 75 yrs... This is PLAN's first tango on the dance floor.

But I think PLAN will surpass marine nationale soon in carrier building. They already have way more tonnage.

Well, that is correct. This first carrier at 65,000 tons will surpass the single CDG at 40,000.

Once launched, the Chinese will have more tonnage in carriers than any other nation in the world except the US.

Bascially, 2 x 65,000 )CV-16 and CV-17) will equal 130,000 tons. And at 130,000 tons in true carriers, they will have the mos of any other nation except the US..

By the time the UK has its two 70,000 ton carriers operating, the Chinese will have added a third, probably something near 80,000 tons, which will mean they will be up to 210,000 tons of carriers.

Of course, the US, right now, without adding the Ford to the total yet, has over 1,000,000 tons, just in Nimitz class carriers.

For decades to come, the Chinese are going to keep building carriers. Probably as many as six total I believe. They will not catch up to the US...but they do not need to.

If they stay focused on the WESTPAC and on the SLOCs associated with the Silk Road at Sea...that will be all they need.

This comparison don' t make sense curious.

It is very curious only for China enough logic... impossible say he can't do a thing obviously for logic reasons or in general we go for a mess ... for all others countries it is possible fortunately...
