Highly unlikely, the Ford only has 3, getting rid of that 4th wire makes room for other important equipment, reduces weight and complexity! with the auto land systems coming online now, get that bird back on the boat is easier and with less drama than ever, in fact the F-35 manages its own lift with instantaneous flap adjustment once its coming down the glide slope...
I believe the A-5 Vigilante were likely some of the hottest aircraft to operate off the boat?

Liaoning has 4 arresting wires.
Dang, you're right, its been a while since I had given any thought to the lovely J-15s making arrested landings, and I suppose the discussion I recalled was about reducing the number of wires on China's first Catobar carrier....

There was a video to let us expect the number will be reduced on the second STOBAR-carrier. But 002 has 4 wires as we can see now.
Looks like the windows of the bridge are enlarged, similar to CV17.Some updates...
