I've been using Samsung for the past 4 to 5 years. There are things which are good and bad about the brand. For example; the pros: the interface are user friendly, reasonable price, easy to sell out when you want to change phone. the coin: battery drain fast, quality drops quickly after a year of use, get hot on intensive use...

I'd never tried a ZTE though, so I have nothing to comment about this. Huawei is also the first Chinese phone I've ever used. If you don't like the preinstall apps on Samsung, then this Huawei almost comes with an empty phone. When I first turn on the device, I was surprise "where are all the apps!". I still observing what is good and what is bad about this Mate 8.

One more point, with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, I take photo of the new 100 dollar note and zoom in to clearly read the words "The United States of America" on Franklin's collar. The camera of the Mate 8 can't do this or maybe I don't how to set that option.
When I tried the ZTE, I really didn't like it - in my opinion, it felt like a downgrade from my Galaxy Ace Plus (at the time). There were similar specs between the two, but when the Galaxy Ace Plus struggled a bit, the ZTE wouldn't work at all. A couple of apps that I used wouldn't work at all on the ZTE, yet they would work (albeit slowly) on the Ace Plus. The internet speed felt slower on the ZTE, despite supporting a more modern type of data connection (14.4 Mbit/s instead of 7.2 Mbit/s), and Google Chrome was very, very slow - which was one of the whole reasons for me to upgrade from an Android 2.3 device to an Android 4.0 device! Oh, and the FM Radio wasn't as good, and the camera had no flash. IMO, the ZTE was a disaster!

Will I ever go back to ZTE again? Nope! Will I stick with Samsung forever? Probably not, as it depends on what different companies are offering when my S4 gives up the ghost.

Though it would be nice to remove some of the preinstalled apps on the S4, that I will probably never use.

OT. I notice SDF has changed its appearance. However, LIKE still not working on Chrome, at least on my mobile.
I've just hit the like button, as a test, and it does work on my computer running windows 7.
Browser: Slimjet v6.0.x, based on Chrome 46

Sino Defence Forums has changed from whatever forum software it used to run, to XenForo.

Anyone having trouble with signing in with Yahoo? I've noticed since about Tuesday afternoon there's trouble signing in. I checked the internet for any news and some site that shows a map of service outages shows most metropolitan areas in the US are out. Saw some forums I've seen are mentioning this. You'd figure this kind of outage going on this long would make the news. I wonder if there's an attack going on.

Nope, I haven't had any issues - however, I wouldn't know because I do not have an active Yahoo account.

If there's anyone on here that does have a Yahoo account, please update this. Alternatively I will ask people I know, that also have Yahoo, to check their logins.

edit: I last checked this on Slimjet version 6.0.x. It is now version 8.0.x. I wonder if any new updates have resulted in my inability to use the like button any more.

Alternatively it could be the forum software changes that have taken place.

I have a problem with my laptop. It is a HP running windows 10. The keyboard is frozen. I cannot log in. I tried to log in with the on screen keyboard and I keep getting the message about incorrect password. How can that be? I had the same password for about 10 years...

I used my chromebook looking for solutions. But to no avail. Any suggestions/help/fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The wife and I have both had issues like this with Windows 10.

It expects a password for logging online onto MS when you boot your computer up.

I found an option to get it back to logging onto my computer...but only after several days of fooling around with it and it finally asking me if I wanted to do that.

It was like. DUH! YEs I want to lo onto my computer and not to MS Online every time I get onto the computer.

Until it got resolved...I could not use the thing at all.

Thanks Jeff. my keyboard is frozen. The mouse does work. So does the onscreen keyboard but it will not let me log into my computer.

My wife went out to eat with one of her daughters. When she gets back my wife will look at it. My wife is a whiz that this sort of problem. She calls herself the senior geek squad.:p
