Cold War re-lived in the Barents sea.

An Russian trawler named "Elektron" has yet again been taken in illegal fishery in the Barents Sea. The "Elektron" is well knowned for its previous illegal fishery in this zone.

Saturday, the Norweguan Coast Guard borded the ship outside the Svalbard Islands (Norwegian island group) and caught them in using illegal trawling techniques. They used a technique sucked up all of the fish, the legal way is to have the net holes large enough to only catch the big fish, and to let the small fished free.

While 2 Norwegian Coast Guard officers were onboard inspecting the ship, the ship suddently turns 180 degrees around, and sails full steam ahead for Russian territorial waters. With the 2 Norwegian Officers still aboard...

Right as we speak, the "Elektron" is beeing chased by 2 Norwegian Coastguard ships and Orions, while 2 Coastguard ships opserve and cover them. The "Elektron" is not replying any orders from the Coastguard to get to the nearest Norwegian harbour.

Both the commanders of the Norwegian Northern Armed Forces and the Russian Northern Fleet agrees to have to solve this conflict fast, however the Russian Foreign Minister denies to order the ship to a Norwegian port. He says the fishing zone is disputed, and that the ship will continue to Russian area.

Russian patrol warships is prepared to protect the "Elektron" as it enters Russian waters, and will keep the Norwegians from entering. Norwegian warships has never violated the Russian water border (without permision, that is), and cant do anything to stop the ship, other than to open fire (which wont happen).

Meanwhile, some Russian Media is claiming that Norwegian ships has already opened fire with their guns at the "Elektron", and that Norwegian planes has droppend incidary bombs at it! What a nonsense!

Norway would never do that, and AFAIK, dont even operate with incidary bombs...

However, the rumous has it that the 2 Norwegian Officers is taken relativly good care of. The Norwegian Armed Forces says that they are not afraid that the officers involved should be hurt onboard, and that they will most likely be handed over soon.

Sorry, but thats pretty much what I could find that werent on eitehr Norwegian, or Russian.

Well? What do you think?

Personally, I am sick and tired of hearing about Russians on illegal fishing, and this time it got worse when they kidnapped Norwegian Officers.

PS: The text above is written in my own words, and how I think it is happening. I may be wrong.
