Re: New Chinese UAV

What is the purpose of these Zhuhai air show. Is it showing that the item already existed, currently in development, or both?

UAV's in war

Actually, look at this picture, it seems to be showing Anjian firing missiles at planes and the new UCAV dropping bombs on ships.

Re: New Chinese UAV

If I recall correctly when the Anjian model first appeared there was some report that said the Anjian was an air-to-air UCAV and it was long distance scramjet.

Re: Reaper UAV?

holy shit that's an awesome video. its going through some kind of ground test. whoever took this video has guts he should have get shot by a sniper or something.

yeah they say this thing doesnt have global capability like the global hawk but it does seem to be quite capable. when it is fully developed the PLA should consider purchasing a few even for just getting the experience of operating advanced UAV

Re: New Chinese UAV

That vid shows the same thing from the same position at the same base as the pics in post '50.
Actually I even seem to think I've seen (part of) that vid before.

Could it actually be chinese policy to allow those leakages to let the world now what PLA/AF/N do or has without officially acknowledging it?

Re: New Chinese UAV

From the video you can see it's filmed from behind some bushes, so I'm pretty sure this guy (or girl) was filming illegally. In these internet times, I don't think it matters if the leakage is with or without the consent of the authorities as internet material is often hard to trace and initially impossible to stop from going online (they only discover it has been published after it has been published). If it was possible to stop such things, the entertainment industry wouldn't be making all that hassle about piracy.
