I am not sure if the J-11 fighters were scrambled for that purpose. Around the time the cruiser was going through the Straits, the Chinese and Russians doing a joint aerial drill where Russia sent Tu-94 Bears and an A-50 down the Tsushima Straits, and China sent some H-6 and possibly an KJ-2000 to meet them. South Korean and Japanese fighters responded to intercept these bombers and there is currently some tit and tat going on with Russia and South Korea about why Russian bombers are flying over disputed Dokdo. The J-11s were probably meant to accompany the H-6s which is the usual pattern with these flights over the seas.

Yeah, that's because the corrupt shitshow that answers for a military in these "countries" diverted the maintenance funds into senior officers' pockets. I'm sure they bought something appropriately gaudy:

There was that report several years ago of the large scale of mishaps with US drones overseas. Many flip over after take-off. The difference is the media keeps the US failure rate hush.

The same article mentioned that US Boeing drones also have maintenance issues and operation set backs as a result. Perhaps not to the same extent as the CH-4 drones in Iraqi operation but that bit is unquantified so it could be more or less. Whatever. The main issue is maintenance is poor. Let's see if the rich oil states start selling their's. So far it's just been Jordan selling them off, only mentioning that they are not fit for the purposes required by the Jordanian forces. This could really be anything. Other operators seem satisfied. Let's see how future drone sales go for any real indication.

There was another report that came to light because of how some F-22s were able to be damaged at a base during a hurricane last year. You'd figure they would just get out of Dodge before the hurricane struck. They couldn't because a significant portion of Raptors in the US's inventories are grounded due to many and various maintenance issues. The question is were they damaged because their shelters were damaged therefore they were damaged or were there so many Raptors grounded at this base that not all of them could be sheltered hence they were damaged by the hurricane. There's a whole lot of conclusions that can be made about those maintenance problems. But it's hush hush.

Can someone shed some lights on CH-4's available to active mission. Allegedly, there is reports in the national interest that middle Eastern counties are putting CH-4 on the shelf as it has been inoperable UAV due technical issues.
China is filling gap of UAV market in Middle East and South East Asia. Would China take these reports seriously and address issues!!!
