Based on academic papers, the J-10B radar with IFF that we saw a few years back should have been an AESA.

Yeah, I've seen that pic but I was thinking that with Chinese tech moving so fast, who knows? That could be an early version and this one an improved version, especially for J-10C. Pretty cool how fast things are moving. A few years back, China was still installing MSA on its top-end fighters and now, they've got PESA on their trainers.

This is allegedly the L-15 PESA radar from Institute 607:
Admins, please move this post back to the Flankers thread. This radar (model name L-15) is said to belong to the J-15. I wasn't clear in my original post, but let me clarify:
This PESA is named by the 607 Institute as the 'L-15', which coincidentally is also the name for PLAAF's next generation lead-in trainer. Therefore, it does belong to this thread.

I don't think that is the nose of flanker, it is too small and it is not hinged upward. Looked like L-15 or JL-9.
L-15. Forget to say in the original post or thought it was obvious and didn't need saying.
