Chinese purchase of Su-35

Show me how many Su-35's are currently flying since its design was finalized. Why aren't people flocking to it if it is such the hottest thing in town? Chinese should be begging to buy it??? How many years have the Russians been trying to sell it to the Chinese? Why aren't the Indians buying it? They got involved in the T-50 and they bought Su-30. Why not Su-35? That same poor Su-35 flies from airshows to airshows for how many years now? Made any sales yet? Why do the Russians keep bragging about the "sale of the Su-35 to China"? Shouldn't it be the Chinese who cannot contain their excitement for finally being able to get their hands on the precious Su-35?

Ever heard of that saying "a good product sells itself". Yet, it's not selling no matter how many "Cobra's" the Su-35 flips in the sky...
Russia has 48 operational Su-35s and will recieve 48 more by 2020, so by 2017 it will have close to 60.

China and Indonesia are the first export customers, around 36 to 48 will be bought by these two nations in total at least up to now

And at least up till now...NONE has yet been DELIVER! Gotta have payment before delivery right?

We have signed, but it hasn’t come into effect. There’s a procedure on ratification. To sign is not enough, it has to be ratified by our side and the Chinese side.

A contract was supposedly signed but now we learned that it needs ratification. How does it work in Russia? Does it mean that a signed contract has no commercial meaning? What has come out of Russia so far is highly misleading. The normal meaning that conveys when a contract is signed means the contractual terms are agreed and is simply a case of execution. However in this case many months down the road, we are told that the supposedly signed contract is actually a conditional agreement. In other words the terms are not finalised and that there is in effect no deal until the condition(s) are met.

you were pretty wrong claiming 055 was written off, but it was not, you claimed the problem was the structure the cause of the accident, it was the engine, so why i have to believe you?

Actually it is you who continue to be ignorant of the facts, 055s fuselage and center section where burnt in the engine fire, destroying the structural integrity. The fuselage and center section of 6.1 was pulled from the production que, and 6.1 was renumbered 055. The center fuselage is the main structure of the aircraft that carries the serial number in the aircraft world, wings, tails, engines, landing gears, flaps, stabilators, canopies are all considered parts of that particular fuselage.

I NEVER attributed structural cracking or failure to 055s total write-off. O55 was not rebuilt, the next fuselage in the batch que 6.1 was pulled and 055s wings, tails, landing gear etc. etc were removed from 055, and installed on 6.1, which was then re-numbered as 055, whose main structure, the fuselage/center section is indeed "JUNK".

The was a "known issue" with the structure of the early prototypes, 051 and 052 at least were afflicted, with each being grounded for a time, 051 was so serious that it was thought at the time that it would not fly again. O52 was also afflicted and for a time flew with the empennage of 051. After the total destruction and write off of 055, and the pulling of 06.1 fuselage/center section off the line to be built and numbered as 055, the decision was taken to dismantle 051, and to "rebuild/repair those structural issues.......

There are indeed only five flying prototypes at this time, the first bird of the redesign, with fixes for all those structural issues is 06.2, which was scheduled to fly in early 2016.

So as Deino, Jeff Head, myself and several others tried to convince you at the time, 055s fuselage/center section was indeed a "write-off", and whether you care to accept the truth is irrelevant to that chain of events???

Here again you display your ignorance of the facts, PAK-FA is in the development stage, F-22 is and has been IOC since 2005, and flying combat air patrols etc, etc, since that time. It has been very successful operating in the highly contested airspace in the fight against ISIS.

you are OFF TOPIC? and making assertions that have nothing to do with whether or not the Chinese eventually take possession of ANY SU-35s???

Sorry my friend but you do not distinguish between official statements and forum gossip, the 055 has never been said officially that they used other fuselage aka 056 to rebuild it, that is a gossip from forums like Paralay.ru or Forum Keys; Sukhoi never said or never has made any statement about this been a cannibalized new air frame.

And same is here, Rostec never said the Su-35 is off, Chemezov only said it needs to be ratify next summer and deliveries will be later

Officially PAKFA has completed test flights, the deliveries are for 2017, it is western news outlets that claim all kind of things about it being in troubles, things that are bought by those who belittle PAKFA or Su-35
