Chinese naval SAM exports?

Chanced upon these pic of a corvette of Western design called "Mury Job" - operated by UAE. Has OTO-M 76mm, Exocet and Goalkeeper CIWS, but also seems to have HQ-7 on the stern. Never seen a French Crotale launcher look like that.

Is the SAM Chinese supplied or French supplied?

EDIT: Research is sparse but suggests that they are French supplied

So, if they are french supplied, then the Chinese naval HQ-7 launcher isn't indiginous, despite being different from the typical french one which looks like this:

PS. Ought to make this thread into a catalog of Chinese naval exports(?)

I know that Bangladesh order a bunch of FM-90N and so did PN with the F-22P purchase + LY-60N for the type 21 frigates. Have never heard of UAE though.

From what I read in the CDF, the HQ-7 launcher is based on a prototype Croatale launcher that the French themselves never brought into production. Instead, they sold the blueprints to China while developing a different launcher.

I seem to recall seeing a pic of some French sailors posing with the Sea Crotale SAM system, with a couple guys crawling inside the launch tube as a joke for the photo op. I can't find that pic but do recall it looked HQ-7'ish in external appearance?

The SAM is French, so is the launcher...I hate to once again sound bit hardass, but please little research is never bad if trying to find out orgins of stuff and not just jump to the conclusion which suites you the best...

Easiest thing to look would have been the actual dates of the UAE corvette. They were ordered in 1986 and commisioned in 1990...In those days China didn't have managed to get the HQ-61 system operational despite the over decade of development. Be reasonalbe folks...

Hey matey, I mean staff, moderator, demi-god,... like I said I've never seen a French Crotale launcher in that config and had a assumed, wrongly, that the PLAN crotale launchers are indiginous in design. I assumed it was to do with their autoloaders. So I was surprised to see a basically identical launcher on the UAE vessel and wondered if it was a Chinese export retrofitted - internet data on the Muray Jib is sketchy and often omits the Crotale BTW.

So the question is, if the French sold the Naval Crotale launcher design years before the Chinese ever fielded it, and in the meantime the Chinese have the more modern French launcher for their ground based systems (with fire control radar on the launcher), then WHY did the PLAN not simply jump to the evolved layout???? Even if we excuse the first PLAN ships to get Crotale, the case of the modern Type-054s is inexcusible.

demi-god? ;)

I mean no offence, just I sometimes tend to be bit frustrated of these things....

The sea and landbase systems are bit different form each other, all naval applications are. The version of the Naval Crotale system used by china is in fact more modern version of the orginal system. It's lightweight unit which can be fitted to very small ships (like the UAE corvette) and IMO there's no need to have the firecontrol radar adjusted the missile launcher in naval SAMs. (The old Sea Crotale is the sole system using this configuration). So The chinese didn't bought outdated version of the missilesystem, but version customised for export markets...
