Chinese military personnel caught up in Taliban Mehran attack?

The Chinese foreign minister just said that no Chinese citizen was present at the base.

Seems interesting that the Chinese foreign ministry appears to be contradicting information Pakistan has put out.

Pakistan said there were 17 foreigners at the base, 11 of which are Chinese and that they were safe. By the Chinese FM is now saying no Chinese were at the base?

Given the Pakistanis were very specific about the numbers and occupation of the Chinese, it would be very strange for them to have gotten it wrong about Chinese being at the base.

Although before anyone suggests that the Chinese were not supposed to be at the base, it could easily be that the Chinese, while working at the based, where not housed on the base, and given the time of the attack, it could be that they were off site at whatever accommodation they were provided with at the time of the attack?

Still, the Chinese FM statement seems a little strange to me, as there was no real need to make such a statement.

you cant trust what the media say, first they said that a PC3 Orion had been "shot" down, even although it was stationary on the ground

as for the Chinese working in Pakistan, Pakistan takes thier protection very seriously, I know that when a Chinese personal is in danger SSG Commandos are sent in for the operation, SSG group is the elite fighting force of Pakistan only used for major operations

How come the 2 terrorists escaped if the SSG was so good. Pak has to upgrade the security on their bases.
