Didn't you see this? That drivers hatch is completely close in this picture.
Magic!

Yeh I did see that. But HOW did it close?
the hatch close just like any other hatch, while in the previous pic where the soldier was sticking his head and looking through a big square box window, well the box window thing is actually removable, so like MwRYum said, its more for training than actual combat.

I can't believe China still has their infantry run on foot alongside the armoured vehicles and tanks. When are they going to stop doing that ?

Infantry support vehicles, Just as Vehicles support Infantry Infantry can see Issues and threats the vehicles cant but your nor going to have Grunts walking alongside the Vehicles for a entire Armored high speed thrust.

Exactly! The whole point of having troops alongside vehicles is to spot and take care of issues that cannot be taken care of with people inside the vehicles. If everyone can simply sit comfortably inside vehicles, what's the point of having infantry supporting an armored column???

And as Engineer mentioned, those soldiers sitting inside a vehicle have to come out eventually to execute their mission, i.e. attacking someone/something, taking down a building, rescuing hostages, etc. They can't do any of these while sitting inside a vehicle, can they??? So simply spotting them outside of a vehicle does snot mean that they have been walking the past 200 miles alongside vehicles...
