Okay, I have a querry on Chinese Military Aviation. Unsure what they fall out in the Chinese Military but I have never seen any pictures of any Chinese Fixed Wing Gunships. Do any exist as far as any of the members of this site know and if so are there any pictures of them? I thought there would be some especially after what happened in Vietnam to the Chinese at the hands of Spooky in Vietnam but I can't seem to find any. Could you help? I know they have rotary gunships but my question is on fixed wing aircraft like the US. Ie. Similar perhaps in role to Spectre.

At one time there were several countries that operated fixed-wing gunships like the AC-47, BT-67, AC-119, etc. Today only the USAF operate about 21 AC-130's, and the Columbians have a few ex-USAF AC-47's.

The PLAAF doesn't operate gunships like those. The role has been taken over by CAS aircraft and attack helicopter. However if they REALLY wanted to, I'm pretty sure the PLAAF has the capability to mount a few guns on the Y-8.

Gunships arnt that much important in modern warfare. They are litterally bigger and hevier attack helicopters. China does not need such weapons.

AC-130 type aircraft are only useful when the opponent has about zero air-defences. That sort of power projection probably doesn't figure in the PLAAF's expected conflict scenarios.

from the start, gunship are design specifically for COIN operation, recently AC-130 is being fitted with direct energy IRCM to combat MANPAD.

Okay, just wasn't sure how the PLAAF considered things, however will try and follow up the Y-8 trail. Thanks.
