Chinese Engine Development

thanks. That's why I'm always vigilant against photos and videos of bits and pieces that can easily be attributed to other platforms, like engines (which isn't even Chinese), or helmets (which in this case is a freaking fan made CGI)

To be fair this is phoenix tv, which tends to be less accurate than actual Chinese state tv
When some fancy looking clip or picture about some previously unseen (not yet circulated on forums like this one) Chinese military equipment appear on Chinese TV, you can be sure that it is either made-up or borrowed from video archives of foreign origin.

The only exception is CCTV, which sometimes do make initial-release of some first-hand materials. But CCTV is also a big offender of using foreign video archives so you still have to exercise judgment on the things they show.

what's the scoop on WS10 IPE , thrust vectoring version they are talking about?

与苏-35战斗机应用的大推力发动机(与“太行”IPE一样为14.5吨)、矢量喷管、飞行控制系统等,均成为中国空军非常希望国产战机也能拥有的装备和能力。

The air force is very fond of having [structural improvement on Su-35], 14.5t thrust engines, thrust vectoring, aircraft flight-control system, etc. on domestic fighters.

WS-10 IPE is an example of 14.5t thrust engines in the post.

There seems to be no news on Chinese Engines development as of late. All news seems to have dried up.

Is there any specific update on WS-13 engines for JF-17?
