Chinese Economics Thread

That’s actually a really interesting point on nominal GDP growth, especially when we take into account the unusually high inflation in China last year due primarily to swine flu.

That high inflation had far more to do with China’s low real growth rate than trade, which the article also helpfully pointed out was only down by 0.03% in total, so contrary to most western MSM analysis that blamed the trade war squarely and almost solely for the low growth rate, inflation is actually the real cause.

Yes. This.
Unmanageable Inflation is a b*t*h.
Especially for the poor and the low middle class. It is good to see the Chinese state being pragmatic about tackling this problem. I have great concerns for the food security of China. Thankfully, Russia is there to soften the impacts.

The trade war has proved some things-
  1. That China is very pragmatic and trades ego for stability.
  2. Stability corresponds to helping secure the interests of the poor, lower middle class workers and farmers ( quite socialistic there).
  3. China has not reached self sufficiency in terms of its technology yet (Semiconductors and Aerospace).
  4. There are considerable dependencies on core foreign technologies that could be subject to sanctions and threats.
  5. China is more resilient and flexible than what was projected to be.

Al Jazeera was a joke in the West. Then they hired Westerners to run it and give it legitimacy. It's a propaganda arm of conservatives of the West.

It accurately hires a bunch ABCs, very much like CNN, NY, WP,... and other Western media outlets.

One female "reporter" hired by AI Jazeera, 陈嘉韵(Melissa Chan) was rejected to grand visa extension while staying in China in 2012 due to her unprofessional conducts.

When you read / watch / hear Western MSM trash, nine out of ten the material is from an ABC, or a Westernized Chinese, either a Taiwanese, or a Ming-Yun, or a FLG.

This is why you can hear "China collapses" again and again from Western MSM, while in the meantime, China is getting stronger and stronger, because they hire biased ABCs as their reporters.

This will drag on until November 2020 and likely longer. No need to follow it in detail as commoner. Once a month just check how her kidnapp process stands. 'Rule of law'. Yeah.

If I recall correctly Al Jazeera hired an editor from Great Britain and then you see a number of their reporters with assorted Western names. That's why when I read some of their articles, it's like reading old fart news from the Economist. What gives them away is when I read about democracy and human rights criticism of China from Al Jazeera?
