So does this mean the main body of the aircraft has been assembled and all they have to do is fit it out?

According to the news report, the next step is the installation of the mobile system. Not sure exactly what it means.

It could mean the installation of the landing wheels "Mobile Aircraft Arresting System"

I'm not following this closely, but sometimes the wings are attached to the fuselage mid part before the other fuselage parts are attached. In that case the mobile system might include flaps, slats and ailerons.

Installation of the onboard system in China's first large passenger jet, the C919, has begun at the Shanghai headquarters of the Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC), the Jiefang Daily reported on Tuesday.
Onboard systems are an airplane's "nervous system" and "brain." Installation of the systems will involve repeated tests, which are being pushed ahead steadily, according to project managers.
The C919 will make its maiden test flight before the end of the year.
COMAC has received 57 new pledges for the C919, with 50 coming from Ping An International Leasing and seven from Puren Airlines, a German carrier owned by China's Puren Group, boosting the total number of orders to 507, the company said. (ECNS)

6月21日,在中航工业通飞珠海基地,我国自主研制的“三个大飞机”之一的大型灭火/水上救援水陆两栖飞机AG600中央翼段大部件运抵珠海,正式由中航飞机西安分公司交付中航通飞华南公司。

AG600中央翼段大部件由盒段、固定前缘、固定后缘、左右内襟翼组成,展长12米,弦长5.272米,弦最高0.9米。在盒段的左右3-9肋共设置2个整体油箱,在前、后梁的2肋处设有翼身对接接头,在前梁的6、8肋处设有发送机安装接头。前、后缘布置有各系统安装维护通路。盒段中采用了整体加筋壁板、整体机加梁,整体壁板采用了成型难度较大的薄壁高筋结构,且采用了先进的喷丸成形、喷丸强化工艺。中航飞机西安飞机分公司克服了一系列困难,于3月12日成功实现AG600中央翼段大部件下架。6月9—11日,上海适航审定中心对中航飞机西安飞机分公司交付的AG600飞机首架机中央翼段大部件进行了制造符合性检查,在6月12日召开的审查末次会上,审查组认为中航飞机西安飞机分公司对检查中所发现的问题全部进行了整改并经检查组复查确认,全面符合设计要求,对制造质量和制造检查代表的工作提出表扬,审查组还就后续部件交付中构型控制、产品质量控制等方面提出了要求,同意颁发“批准放行证书/适航批准标签”。

据介绍,AG600中央翼于6月16日从西安发运珠海,6月21日交付中航通飞华南公司。随后,外翼、平尾、垂尾等也将相继取得“批准放行证书/适航批准标签”并运抵珠海,2015年底前AG600飞机将完成总装,2016年上半年实现首飞。

作为当今世界在研的最大一款水陆两栖飞机,AG600是为满足我国森林灭火和水上救援的迫切需要,首次研制的大型民用特种飞机,是国家应急救援体系建设急需的重大航空装备。AG600飞机按照“水陆两栖、一机多型、系列发展”的设计思路,采用单船身、悬臂上单翼布局及前三点可收放式起落架,选装4台涡桨发动机,最大起飞重量53.5吨,20秒内可一次汲水12吨。具有执行森林灭火、水上救援等多项特种任务能力,可根据用户的需要加改装必要的设备,满足执行海洋环境监测、资源探测、客货运输等任务的需要,还可在水面停泊实施救援行动,水上应急救援一次最多可救护50名遇险人员。

After three years of development, China's first all-electric light aircraft - the Rui Xiang RX-1E - is now fully certificated, and will be finally mass produced.

Made of carbon fiber composite material, the two-seater electric plane can fly up to 90 minutes with full batteries; and it's a lot cheaper to charge up with electricity than a comparable plane would be for a regular fill-up.

Many countries are focusing on the development of electric planes, with an ultimate goal of reducing fossil fuel usage. And after RX1E receives the certificate early this year, China will soon put this first domestic made electric aircraft into mass production.

The selling points are: convenience of use, low operating costs and no carbon emissions from the plane. It can also serve a wide range of purposes such as police patrols, flight training, and meteorology. The chief designer told us a lot of effort went into obtaining the airworthiness certificate.

"Unlike military aircrafts and commercial jets, there are certain criteria that an electric plane must have before given permission to fly. The plane has to be light enough, and the batteries need to be efficient and reliable overall it has to be cost-effective to be mass produced," said Yang Fengtian, chief designer of RX1E.

The RX1E has put in 240 hours of trials since the test model rolled out in 2013. During the testing period, the framework of the plane didn't change much, but the batteries have been improved to enhance the flying hours. The two units which were delivered to their customers last month show the plane is fully ready.

"The RX1E will significantly push the development of China's general aviation industry, because the bottlenecks facing the current general aviation field are not just airspace resources, but also the lack of low-cost planes like the RX1E," Yang said.

But those 2 videos are not the latest one, the latest development has better battery installed and more efficient and can fly up to 90 minutes

The flying time will be longer and longer as the technology developed, no doubt. Once it reaches 4 hours, it will be a serious competitor to regular small plane.

But I don't see it will replace Boeing or Airbus in the next 50 years :D
