Since we are talking about Chinese anti-tank missiles in Syria, is there any new short-range ATGM's coming from China? HJ-8, HJ-9 and HJ-10 are much heavier than the HJ-73C and cannot really replace it when looked needs of paratroopers, etc. I'm quite sure that Chinese could come up with something more modern to replace HJ-73C, but I guess PLA does not see a need to replace HJ-73C any time soon? HJ-73C has it pros, but it is a quite cumbersome system if compared to something like ERYX.

Here list of what other countries use as their short range ATGMs and these are pretty much doing same job as the more cumbersome HJ-73C.

AFT-11 fire and forget anti tank missile, why there's no news on this missile,no mention at satory def. exh. in paris, and not even in zhuhai.
But during the zhuhai airshow, AVIC display FB-10 IR staring imaging seeker for FB-6 MANPAD.likely AFT-11 use the same seeker.

AFT-11 will start production next year.wil make debut in military exercise.

First off... Blackstone... you do realise that the information provided needed to be digested with a large spoonful of salt (because a pinch of salt don't buy anymore). If you read through what was written by our faithful forumer - hardware, that load of chinese simply state,

"Base on a little internal information, I come to understand that a certain weaponry from a certain military hardware company (or corporation) - AFT11 third generation anti-tank missile system will enter mass production next year (at year start)... bah bah bah."

    Well... the questionable part is,

    1) who is the 'I' in the passage
    2) What internal information?
    3) Which company made the AFT-11 (I know that this system was already there and seriously it was not that high a technology that that author needed to be so secretive about.
    4) Where was the passage taken from? Or god forbidden... a fantasy made up by the poster himself?
    5) Plus... that author didn't ask what is the guidance system of the missiles? which was one of the biggest and most important thing... how convenient.

So I would say... highly suspectable information (as usual).

And if you are to look at AFT-11 spec,

    http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/army/china-develop-tank-killer-2-5649.html

although it did not say the actual spec is... but someone in that mentioned thread did mentioned that the missile is close to the Israelis Spike... (take that with a huge pinch of salt too).

I just read some article online and not too sure if the information is authentic. It states that LOSAT has a range of 4.2KM and the Compact Kinetic Energy Missile, a spiral development of LOSAT have a range of 5-8KM. Both of these are kinetic penetrator. I am wondering, how much better in battle is the LOSAT when compared to existing ATGM in the PLA inventory and are they cost effective. It seems to me that using a rocket to launch a kinetic penetrator is a bit expensive and kind of bulky for the early entry force.

The shown photos by hardware are LOSAT from US and not China.

LOSAT consists of the kinetic energy missile and its IBAS-based fire control system on an expanded HMMWV towing a resupply trailer. - Image - Army Technology

And it is not difficult to verify. I wonder why someone would post all these fake photos
