According to this article, changes in radar technology on the raptor promise to extend range by over 1.5 times. That means the Raptor has an AESA range of roughly 400 km. That puts the J-11 in perspective, no?

The 450 km range radar is the 607th Institute's product, which is used onboard the J-16 (and likely J-15A), not the J-11D. The J-11D uses the NRIET's radar (likely the same radar as the J-20).
