Calling the load capacity comparable to the 120tons gross A400M confuses me a bit (max payload ~37tons, 30tons to ~4500km, 20tons to ~6500km).
Is the Y-30 supposed to be noticeably bigger than the KC-390 (74 tons gross, max payload ~29tons, 23 tons to ~2800km, 14 tons to ~5000km) or somehow more efficient ?
gross weight of about 80 tons, with the ability to carry cargo weighing up to 30 tons.
I think that does seem rather low. The Closest Airlifter in paylad I can think of is the Japanese Kawasaki C2 with a 32 ton payload and an empty weight of 60.8 tonnes and a Gross weight of around 120 tonnes. So there might be a discrepancy here. of course the Kawasaki is powered by twin General Electric CF6-80C.

Just adding up all the Y-9 varients

We have High new series 8-11 using Y-9 airframe totalling around 27 units, 9G, 9XZ, 9W and 9JB

We have identified up to 21 x Y-9 transport

So we have around 48 known Y-9 platforms

More likely over 50 or close in 6 years

Production running at 8 units per year maybe slightly higher

ZDK-03, 8W and 8Q comes to 23 units but that is Y-8 catergory III platforms

Overall Y-8 cat 3 and Y-9 platforms over 70 units built so far

Not bad production
