I notice that there are 2 top notch Y-20 pilots that has already passed 40 years age.
I am glad PLAAF still has the logical sense to forgo the Age Limit on Y-20 pilots.
As long as, Mr. DU Bao Lin and others have demonstrated that they are one of the very best Y-20 pilots, PLAAF shall keep deploying them regardless of their advanced age. -- Absolute Meritocracy and Fairness within all PLA ranks and files are the only way to go forward, if PRC wants to win all wars with those malicious long term enemies.

Does anybody know how many Y-20s will be produced ? I've read everything from 100 to 300-400 to 1000.

100 seems reasonable for strategic airlift only, but too little if they would want the airframe for tankers/AWE&C/MPA/etc.pp. too.

1000 on the other hand is completely ridicoulous and would rival, if not surpass, the USAF strategic airlift/tankers/AWE&C/MPA capabilities.

No one knows, and I wouldn't take any numbers seriously, whether it's from state media or not.

The air force are the only source that would be reliable on this matter, and they're obviously not going to tell us how many they're going to procure.

Is there any indication how many will be produced each year ?
I guess you would need a big factory even to just produce a dozen a year.

If they can get to 1 per month by the end of this year and 2 per month by the end of next, I think that would be pretty good progress.
