China's transport, tanker & heavy lift aircraft

Nah, just old school, I saw my first Disney movie on Okinawa, the Swiss Family Robinson, I did note the other day that the new Sea Plane the Chinese are building appears to have a very traditional rib and stringer construction, and the same manner of wing attach with four vertical spar attach points protruding from the upper fuselage, and then those attach points faired in, what we might have referred to almost as a Parasol type arrangement. The advantage being that the center section/wing box does not pass through the fuselage skin and may be replaced by bolting on a new one. The wing box/center section does take a lot of stress, and with airlifters particularly, as there are massive twisting, bending moments applied on every flight, and one thing that continues to life limit many different aircraft?
Also these forces will be especially high when landing into a sea with considerable wave heights.

Since water is not compressable, it will give that center section and the whole airframe a real beating, one of the reasons you like to have plenty of lift and thrust is to transfer the load to the wing and off the hull as soon as possible, any sea plane has a hard life, but a large one even more so? A very important further benefit of external attach point is that heavy "carry through spar" structure will no impinge on the internal load, which it does in the case of a C-130, etc, where the spar carry through structure passes through the cabin.

A short time friend of my sister's, when she was sixteen or so, gave me a book from 1940 about aircraft performance that compared land aircraft that needed to make do with a legal take of distance ( I think it was talking about taking off from grass, not concrete ) of 600 meters ( 2000' ) with flying boats used in Indonesia ( then a Dutch colony ) using 3000 meters when the water was very smooth and didn't offer some waves to throw it into the air. No word about high winds and high waves. :)

Seems as if cold-temperature tests are under way ...

The gap between the engine pylons seems to be really big. It looks like engine upgrades are as simple as flight software upgrades. Anyone feel the same?

If you look closely at those reflective industrial lights and steel trusses from the glass you know it's definitely a hangar, but where at though?

Actually I don't think it is a hangar .. looks IMO more like a typical Airport building ! Isn't Hulunbuir Hailar Airport simply a civil airport ?
