OMG! China must do something against North Korea or else the US won't defend China anymore!
it is more hilarious than outrageous. :D

With this Eric Bolling type of highly paid and highly visible character all over the main media and sub-standard education of the mass in subject of world affairs, it won't be surprising how the politics and state policies are a total mass.

China on Wednesday called for an early resumption of talks on the Korea Peninsula nuclear issue and reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the issue through negotiations.

China and the United States began to talk about diplomatic and security issues on Wednesday. The dialogue was one of four high-level mechanisms announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump during their first meeting in Florida in April.

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi co-chaired the one-day dialogue with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

Among the Chinese attendees was Fang Fenghui, a member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and chief of the CMC Joint Staff Department.

During the dialogue, China reiterated its commitment to denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula and maintaining peace and stability there, and urged a comprehensive and strict implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions on the issue.

China proposed a "dual-track approach" to promoting denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and establishing a peace mechanism in parallel and a "suspension for suspension" to defuse the looming crisis.

As a first step, Pyongyang may suspend its nuclear and missile activities in exchange for the suspension of large-scale Washington-Seoul military exercises.

On Wednesday, China called on relevant parties to consider and adopt these proposals, in a bid to pull the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue back on the right track of peaceful resolution through dialogue and consultation.

At the dialogue, China also reiterated its opposition to the deployment of the U.S. Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile defense system in South Korea, saying such deployment should be halted and revoked.

China hails "positive signals" on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue

China on Friday hailed recent "positive signals" on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and called for addressing concerns of various parties in a balanced way.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang made the comments in response to a question regarding remarks by a number of diplomats concerned about the issue.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) ambassador to India Kye Chun Yong said Wednesday the DPRK would not rule out suspending nuclear and missile tests if the United States abandoned the practice of holding large-scale military drills, according to media reports. The ambassador said Pyongyang was ready for negotiations with the United States at any time and without preconditions.

Meanwhile, a special advisor to President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea (ROK) indicated a reduction of joint war games with the United States if the DPRK stopped nuclear and missile activities.

"China believes these positive messages are important for easing tension on the peninsula and for a solution to the issue through dialogue," Geng said.

Geng said the root of the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue was in security. He said the solution required comprehensive measures and addressing both the symptoms and root causes.

China proposed a "dual-track approach" to denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, establishing a peace mechanism in parallel, and a "suspension for suspension" to defuse the looming crisis.

As a first step, Pyongyang may suspend its nuclear and missile activities in exchange for the suspension of large-scale Washington-Seoul military exercises.

China has also called for strengthening efforts on non-proliferation and promotion of peace talks to bring the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula to a peaceful settlement.

"We are glad to see China's proposals have gained increasing support and responses," Geng said.

China welcomes and encourages suggestions to help alleviate tension and confrontation, enhance communication and trust, and restart dialogue as soon as possible, Geng said.

He called for the international community to seize all possible opportunities, to promote the settlement of the issue through dialogue and consultations.

The large scale US-SK military exercises are needed to keep the SK forces fit to be subordinated to the US armed forces in case of war as they were permanently until 2015. So suspension of exercises and missile and nuclear tests would be a small step on the long road to reunification.

this thread for Spotlight: Anti-THAAD protestors surround U.S. embassy in S.Korea

Thousands of South Korean protestors against the deployment of the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) in their homeland took to the streets in central Seoul to demand the reversal of the installation decision.

About 3,000 demonstrators gathered outside the Seoul metropolitan government building as of 4 p.m. local time (0700 GMT), according to an organizer composed of advocacy groups and residents living in the THAAD site.

The attendees clamored for the cancellation of the decision to install the U.S. missile interception system that is not needed anywhere in the Korean Peninsula.

From time to time, it was raining in the capital city, but the protestors marched scores of meters to the U.S. embassy in South Korea to surround it in protest against the hurried push for the U.S. weapons deployment.

It was called a "human chain" event as a line of people stood around the embassy of the United States. The event was going on as of 6:30 p.m., according to the organizer.

A blue wave was slopping around the streets as people held blue placards and pamphlets that read "Repeal THAAD" and "Hate THAAD" as well as the most famous "THAAD out, Peace in."

Ordinary citizens and residents from Seongju and nearby Gimcheon county made free speeches on the stage in central Seoul to express their strong opposition to the U.S. missile defense system.

Seoul and Washington agreed in July last year to place one THAAD battery in Seongju county, North Gyeongsang province. The site was changed in September into a golf course at Soseong-ri village to the northernmost of the county.

Two THAAD mobile launchers were deployed to the golf course, just two weeks before the presidential by-election on May 9. Four more launchers were transported to a U.S. military base near Seongju, but it was not reported to South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Moon has ordered a thorough investigation into the unreported delivery of the launchers. One THAAD battery is composed of six mobile launchers, 48 interceptors, the AN/TPY-2 radar and the fire and control unit.

The anti-THAAD protest rally was staged ahead of President Moon's first summit meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington for two days from June 29.

During the two-day meeting, the two leaders were widely expected to discuss the THAAD deployment.

remember that cooperation in the denuclearization of NK was one of the reasons for trump to give a pass regarding the issue of trade with china. If china starts to give signals that afterall it wont cooperate, that could make trump to change its mind.

This is a reuters article from today about trump growing frustrated with china. The US could impose trade actions against china.

LOL Let's see some action instead of tweeting. He can run his mouth all he wants. Half the time, the checks and balances system stops him because the idea is just too stupid and the other half, he just walks back on what he says and changes his mind 180 degrees. Remember his take on Chinese currency manipulation? I don't take anything he says seriously. I bet he's not starting any trades wars; he's just talking to get a rile out of gullible people and make them think he's a doer.

Acording to a WSJ article, the US government is urging the chinese government to impose sanctions on nearly 10 chinese companies and individuals that trade with NK, and that if china doesnt do that by the end of the summer, the US will.

It seems that the US government is starting to target chinese companies due to trade with NK

nothing new, US has targeted Chinese companies for the same reason before Trump entered office. If China did not follow those "orders" when US was stronger than today, China will not barge today. If China do it today when China is stronger than before, it would not be due to Trumps pressure but rather due to China's own judgement on NK.

Bottom line is effectiveness of pressure is in line with strength.

What I do see is that, the situation on the peninsular will remain tense but stall as today in the next 5 years. Nothing much worth to worry or being exciting within that time span.
