"North Korea disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected President when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!"

I feel like donald might actually have the hots for xi. but knowing how temepramental he is he might suddenly become uber fond of another world leader after xi in a few months. all a bit bizarre
President Trump is very entertaining. :D

Quote of the week, I will say.
OTOH, like Chinese put danger and opportunity together, had anyone thought the biggest gain China can make out of the so-called crisis and these two crazy men? For example, further blown-out of Trump bluff? And going-south confidence of key allies, Japan & SK mainly, on USA, though perhaps inevitable due to the new power balance in Asia?

That is another point that PM Wang Yi put in his speech. "危机" = "danger(crisis) + opportunity". Surely, Wang Yi, President Xi and the Chinese leadership see opportunity in it.

Are you saying that I was putting words in your mouth? If so, why do you think I was talking about you? If you did not say those words, no need for you to pick that up onto yourself.

As to "advocated it as a way to advance Chinese interests". If you read Wang Yi's words, "China did not create the trouble, US (and NK) did". So why should China clean the mess that US created? How could cleaning that mess (making NK people enemy of China) advance Chinese(instead of US/SK) interests? That does not make any sense to a Chinese.

Then who were you referring to? I don't see a single person arguing that.

I've explained it before, it would allow China to expel the Americans from the peninsula and draw SK into China's orbit.

If you think you did not arguing for that, then why bother who else?

I made a point at a certain kind of thought, not to a specific person. That certain thought is very widely spread all over the net, including this thread. But again, if you think you are not one of them, then don't pick it up. I don't see why you should be so concerned about it.

I've heard what your were saying. And I read your posts very carefully, my understanding of them (your proposals) and their effect on Chinese interests and strategic impact is different from what you advocated (in your posts). And I am not convinced. So just agree to disagree, shall we?

something fishy is going on here. man this ain't normal, feels like we're stuck in the Twilight Zone. we know Trump absolutely hates China, we are in the same category with Nazi Germany in terms of evilness. so if Trump is treating Xi Dada so respectful like this, something is up.

I don't think its that odd, both China and the US want NK to denuclearize, but both want the other to make the first move. Trump is trying to goad China to act by showing unprecedented support to Xi and China, while China is goading the US to act by showing unprecedented support for American actions.

You made a wrong statement, I called you out on it, happens all the time on this board. But sure, we can agree to disagree.

I made my statement that I believe is right, but you believe it wrong. Your view (that my statement being wrong) does not make it necessarily wrong, it is ONLY your view. Big difference.

Well, you can call anyone out on something, but it is obsession when you repeatedly trying to make sure that I was not specifically talking about you. Ask yourself, why do you even bother how I think of you or who exactly falls into the group of people in my post, you or anybody? I am just a nobody.

Consider this, if I agree with you that "you are not one of the people that my post aimed at", what will your argument be then? Do you believe there are many people fall into the two categories that I mentioned (you being none of them)? If you believe there are, then you agree with my post, don't you? If you believe there aren't (impossible), then you should call me out to refute the existence of such people instead of repeatedly dissuade me of grouping you with those people because I did NOT say you are, did I?

I do refute the existence of such people on this board. I don't know what your experience outside has been, but I read the same posts you do on SDF and I don't believe I've seen a single one, let alone many.

Clearly there's some misunderstanding, could you show me what type of post you were referring to?

The North Korean government collapsing is the best case scenario for the US. They don't have to worry about the fallout from a military conflict. That's why they want China to cut-off the North because a self-imploding collapse is more likely. Whether China cuts-off North Korea or the US exploiting North Korean paranoia to have them cut-off relations by saying China is working with the US, lie or not, works to that end.
