Israelis called Trump to weigh in ahead of UN Security Council vote
"As the United States has long maintained, peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through the imposition of terms by the United Nations," Trump said. "This puts Israel in a very poor negotiating position and is extremely unfair to all Israelis."
I just can't help to see how much of hypocrit the United States of America is - supporting illegal Israeli land grab on land where lawful occupants living on it are forcefully evicted. Blocking UN condemnation on Israel with veto.
When China is building on island where no one living on it and as lawful claimant and the US condemns it and demands party negotiation when China only wants to negotiate DIRECTLY with each party.
I say China call on US's bullshit and double standard. If they allow Israeli to bully and land grab so brazenly they have no reason to even raise the question about SCS.

Countries great and small have always mouthed high-sounding ideals/morals while doing whatever they could to pursue their interests. Hypocrisy is just part of the package, and the more powerful the country, they greater the ability to flaunt it.

First off this post simply does not belong in the China SCS Strategy thread.
Note that the Obama administration has been trying to shift the US away from such hypocrisy otherwise the US delegation would have vetoed the resolution. Note also that the resolution passed 14-0 which means everyone else on the UNSC voted for it.

Obama is simply getting his revenge on Israel for being a headache over the Iran deal. It's absurd how some are counting on Obama to pardon Edward Snowden. Obama was embarrassed by Snowden on his watch. Obama has shown he's vindictive. Obama was criticized for not giving any attention to the Israel/ Palestinian issue throughout his Presidency. Why? I read it was because he didn't see it being resolved during his term in office. Looking out for legacy? So he didn't bother. Now he gives attention?
Just like after seven years of making sure there was no international agreement on the environment because Obama didn't want that bad mark like was given to Bush at Kyoto where he was blamed when Congress failed to ratify what was agreed to. For seven years Obama proposed that all sacrifices had to made by developing countries while developed ones didn't have to do a thing assuring no agreement would ever be made. But his last year in office he decides to work at an agreement in Paris. It wasn't because he cared about the environment. It was because it would be the next President that gets blamed if Congress didn't ratify it or in this case Trump would just back out. But Obama could still claim he was a champion for the environment. That's why he waited until the last moment.
