    China - Pak Economic Corridor - CPEC

    CPEC : China Machinery Engineering Corporation is working on Thar block II coal mine & power plant. 60% of target has been completed. Open pit mine is dug down to 120m, much ahead of time. Boiler has steam drums in position, Main Hall & Cooling Tower are almost finished.

    Electrical & Mechanical Equipment Installed at Tarbela 4th Extension Hydro Power Project by German Firm Voith Hydro E&M Contractor.

    1410 MW Tarbela 4th Extension HydroPower Project Under construction Tarbela 4th will be commissioned by this month with its first unit going into operation.
    while the second unit of the project will come on line by end April 2018 and the third unit by end May 2018.

    Under Tarbela 4th Extension Hydro power Project, 3 electric power generating units - each of them having capacity of 470 MW-are being installed at tunnel 4 of Tarbela Dam.

    With completion of the project, generation capacity of the existing Tarbela Hydel Power Station will increase to 4888 MW from the existing 3478MW. Tarbela 4th Extension Hydro power Project will provide 3840 Giga Watt H(3.84 billion units of electricity)to the National Grid annually..

    CPEC update Pic 1: Pavement construction of KKH Phase-II (Havelian - Thakot). It is 118km long, 39km is expressway at 80 - 100kph, 79km is class-II highway at 60kph. Pic 2: Abbottabad Interchange. Pic 3: Abbottabad Tunnels. Pic 4: Pre-casting Yard that shall make 4292 Girders. KPK - Pakistan...

    A high-level Chinese delegation will visit Pakistan in March to review progress on CPEC projects. They will interact with high-level officials & local trade bodies and will visit all provinces to ensure speeding up work on all 9 Special Economic Zones.

    China - Pak Economic Corridor - CPEC

    97.5 % work on 969 MW Neelum Jhelum hydro power project completed.100 per cent concrete work of the project had already been completed, besides 98 per cent dry test of the equipment.

    It has four generating units, each of them having a capacity of 242.25 MW. The first unit will start electricity generation in March this year, Annual benefits of the project have been estimated at Rs 50 billion.
