As China is growing in size, and have global political, economical and military footprint , I think China's non interference doctrine is kinda old fashioned and redundant . China is almost a superpower now but can't back up it stature . Current china's relation vis-a-vis Anglophone nations reminds me of 2 opium war when western nations pact forced china to submit to accept unfair trade agreement and led to century of humiliation.
China's reluctancy to take sides in international affairs and back up friendly nation with military or economic aid will only isolate China internationally. Just look how India locked horns with China on behalf of Bhutan .While India is busy playing geopolitical game forging alliance and China is isolating itself day by day.

China must make alliance now. If World's solo superpower USA need allies then China 3rd powerful nation definitely needs allies. whether u make allies based on common ideology, or buy alliance or make alliance with nations with common foe. May be China can start from Asian nations and forming Pan-Asianism or something like that.

What makes you think that China has tried and failed? Maybe Beijing wants it that way. I don't see India gaining anything. China beat India when it came to earthquake assistance to Nepal. Nepal and Bhutan were already under the influence of India. I don't think Bhutan likes being drawn into India's fights with China.

Here's a fact. China is the second most powerful country in the world and is threatening the to take the number one position from the US. China has surpassed all of the US's allies when they should be all ahead of China. Is India anywhere there? No. So who has the upper hand? Maybe China is the one doing it right hence why China is ahead.

there is merit in what you have said here.
China was reluctant to have formal allies, but She already is having quasi-allies in many Asian countries.
As the Chinese economic sphere of influence extends to Africa and South America and beyond, one day to protect Her interests, She will have to seriously consider establishing oversea naval bases here and there. Perhaps it is time to modify the non interference policy, at least adjust it to minimum interference to protect friendly governments against hostile attempts at regime change.
Of course there are pros and cons to both sides of the coin, but I have confidence and trust at the Beijing Government to make the right decisions to protect the interests of China.

China’s ally selection is limited due to choosing Russia. This is a feature not a bug. All allies are not born equal. Russia pulls much more weight than Saudi Arabia or UK as an ally.

As for the ability to enforce against 3rd world nations, China’s supposed lack of ability comes from the misconception of comparing the military numerically with the US. But such extreme numbers are not needed to interfere. Against third world nations, it is China that would hold an absolute numerical advantage. A single regional fleet could take on the combined African and Latin American fleets together.

So the chances of those nations defying those contracts are not more than they will defy American contracts, since from their perspective, the “risk” is more or less equal. The fact that China is far less exploitative also helps, so fewer countries find themselves cornered with no options.

I don't think allies are as important as is a doctrine which directs China to intervene either where there is already interference that either is, or is intended to be, detrimental to its interests (meaning damn near everywhere), or in order to pre-empt interference that would be, or might become, detrimental to its interests (again, possibly damn near anywhere). China must learn the Global Chess Board and catalogue both those pieces that its adversaries are loathe to lose and those positions from which they cannot win. This would facilitate application of a strategy of geo-miliatry linkage. You challenge my influence here, I'll complicate yours there! In this way, an issue such as the SCS "islands" need not be addressed solely in the SCS.
In my opinion, Afghanistan (the graveyrd of Empires) is one such position from which one of China's adversaries cannot win! Should that adversary continue to challenge China's influence in one region -the SCS, for instance- China could seek to complicate theirs in Afghanistan. How easily that could be accomplished when Afghanistan is right next door to China and its adversary is soooooooo many miles away?
So, yes! I agree, absolutely, that:
China Needs A New Geo-Political Doctrine!

It is still too early. I think the doctrine will naturally appear when the time is ripe.
Besides the current doctrine of trade outposts isn't that bad either. Minimum spending for maximum economic benefit.

Why would so many people want China to be a replica of the past empires such as Britain and US? So China would end up with the same "reputation", in the same path? So China would fit in the same image of the two? So China becomes another oppressor of different countries? Is it because that the proposers are from countries be oppressed today, so they want China to take revenge on their behalf? Or is it the proposers are from the oppressing powers today, so they want to paint China to be just as bad as themselves, to off load their own sin to China's shoulder? Or is it because the proposers are Chinese brainwashed by Hollywood movies that they only know the western way and forget about how China has been living on this planet for 5000 years?

China has been a very different culture since thousand years ago. China did make alliance in its own definition. That alliance is not the same kind of alliance as defined by the west today.

By Chinese definition, China already have many allies all over the world. There is absolutely no need to make a doctrine to resemble the western one. Pretty same as China do not need to copy a Brigadier general to replace Grand colonel, or replace "CMC" with "Joint Chief of Staff" etc.

I'm for China being more active but I can see the argument to stay neutral. Look at this trade war. Everyone even begrudging US allies see this is the US's fault. They can see how the US can turn on them because of the power the US holds on them. Canada and Mexico were the most attacked by Trump and they were the first to surrender to his will. Being liked by the US only means they hate other countries more.

China doesn't have the history of colonialism like the West does. China didn't have generations to brainwash those they colonized into thinking the Western world was the only world. If you noticed the countries that brag about being liked more than China, they have been colonized and indoctrinated by the West. If it was all about that, they wouldn't be complaining about China having things they think they deserve more. And that tells you which countries the West likes because they aren't a threat to their power. But because of that it means China doesn't have a lot of allies to choose from because a large portion of the world has been colonized and taught Western acceptance is important. In the US African-Americans and Latin-Americans say they're the most disenfranchised groups in the US. They're the ones that embrace and value Western culture the most. They worship their oppressor's God. Their cultures were the most destroyed and replace by Western culture. If all the promises of embracing Western culture were true, they would feel equal to them more than anyone else yet they think they're the most oppressed. Where's this utopia promised if everyone embraces Western culture and abandons their own? Is China bombing some country around the world every year where people don't notice because it happens so much that it's become normal? The only countries that get targeted are the ones that haven't bent the knee to the West.

The US needs no one while everyone else needs the US. If that were true, why is trump complaining? According to him the US is being ripped off by other countries yet he thinks the US is doing the greatest the world has ever seen. They shouldn't need to trade with China if it were so bad for the US. Yet they're making threats if China doesn't deal? If what they say how the world works were true, China would be behind every country the US likes but instead is ahead of all of them except the US and the US feels threatened because their position is threatened.

China is sitting pretty.

Did you see US around 1900 making alliance against the British empire when US GDP is already equal or greater than UK alone or British empire combined?

Besides, please avoid Anglophone and Pan-Asianism in political sense, it is close to racism where dealing with other people is based on language, culture or ethnity.
