Yes,

Yes, thanks for the picture, I was hoping to see a flight line full of J-15 and J-15s, yes I am dreaming, Deino, do you an Jeff suppose those recent production J-15s are at the Naval Traning Center?

I believe that some of them most certainly would be.

some of them will be doing testing as they work up towards IOC.

Others may be involved in training there.

We did see four serial birds on the Liaoning in January:

We are all hoping to see more of them on deck soon.

But...this is actually OT here. We do have a J-15 Multirole Fighter Thread in the Naval forumhttps://www.sinodefenceforum.com/j-15-carrier-multirole-fighter-thread.t6768/https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/j-15-carrier-multirole-fighter-thread.t6768/

I will copy these posts over there.

What is the current status of J-16? Is it in service or still testing?

According to reports and articles, by April 2014, the PLAAF took delivery of 24 aircraft and was supposed to reach IOC late last year.

Popular science said:
By April 2014, the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) has taken delivery of a regiment of J-16 multirole fighters, with an expected initial operational capability in late 2014.

The Shenyang J-16 strike fighter is notable for its full suite of fully indigenous Chinese guided munitions. The Su-30MKK was restricted to firing only Russian-made weapons.

To admit I would rate that PoSci-report not very reliable. Especially when they say '1601' is the first operational bird delivered to the PLAAF then they are plain wrong: '1601' is the first prototype and '1603' the second flying one...
We have indeed seen a few pre-serial J-16 during 2014 ... all I have is however not much:

No. 1612 spotted on 21. Febr. '14
no. 1613 spotted on 11. May '14

As such I would not conclude that production has already begun and even more that already a full regiment was delivered ...

Anyway I'm eagerly awaiting any news.

Thanks, Deino.

I will defer to your own thoughts on this over such articles and not pout to much emphasis on the "reports."

Just the same, there are articles our there indicating that production birds were delivered and that the PLAAF is working towards IOC from Popular Science, Global Aviation, Aviation Internation News, and others. But, they are probably all based on the same one or two sources is mu guess.

yep, 160x are the prototypes. 161x are probably the pre-serial ones sent to CFTE for evaluation.
