China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

The Zhaogao-class was original designed as large customs cruiser. They belong to the customs, and are subject to the Coast Guard. It is written everywhere they are 056 based, but they are some what larger, have another power plant, slower speed and was designed by another design office as type 056.
Three units were built and no further are planned, so far as known.

The so called 054 based ships are Type 818. Four units are planned so fa as known.
First is Hai Jing 46301 launched 29.05.16

All these ships are built at Huangpu guangzhou

Oh no, the ships Hai Jing 46111 and 46112 have absolutely nothing to do with 054!

These ships are Type 718B; a development of the type 718. Hai Jing 31101 "Pudong", from 2009 was the so far only built vessel of type 718.

A third 718B vessel is under construction in Wuhan, see photo.

The Type 718B is expected about 100 meters long and displacing about 2,000 tons, more precise data are not yet known. Totaly 5 units are planned.

Thanks for that clarification! Keeping track of the Chinese Coast Guard vessels and their various classes is sometimes harder than keeping track of the PLAN.
