China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

Is it just me or do the 053H2Gs converted to CG duty seem rather empty at the bow without the main gun? Perhaps putting a water cannon there?

I think you want to put your water cannon as high as possible.

Does the exhaust funnel have to be so big on the 2901? Surely they could have modified that size

That exhaust funnel is not empty. I do not know what it contains but it is certain to be useful. I remember reading about an ocean passenger steamer long ago that needed three funnels but because the competitors all had four this one was given a dummy funnel that IIRC contained a smoking room among other things.
