There was a discussion in here somewhat recently taunting China was going to have a problem getting through US ABM systems...

And now China has a working hypersonic missile that was developed in response to two now-cancelled programs, US missile defense technology and Prompt Global Strike, that were being taunted against China...

I doubt the engines for the HTF5980A would come from Daimler. China isn't as backward in ICEs as it is in turbofans, couldn't a domestic supplier like Weichai or Henan Diesel provide the engine?
I don't get your point really. Why Tai'an's using Daimler engine being a specific concern while Wan'shan's using Cummins or Deutz is not? The engines all have foreign sources of technology. Another example is 075 LHA uses SEMT licensed engine.

Guys get right, that TEL engine is offtopic and...Why the hell do someone cares about the displacement or HP of the diesel engine of a ICBM TEL? What about the tire pressure ?Or it is about the time of reaction at a misfortune nuclear weapons exchange? ok sarcastic mode off
If we are talking about MBT, would the detail of suspension system and type of engine being off topic? I think not. Then TEL is very part of road mobile ICBM, isn't it?

DF-41 is definitely existing. I had the opportunity to see and touch this new type of ICBM a few years ago. Will it appear at the military parade on Oct.1, at 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC? I don't know, but I look forward to it.

a question, are the df-31 family (df-31 df-31a df-31ag jl2) missiles actually deployed with mirvs? And what is the approximate power of the warheads?

Officially, I don't think the PLARF has disclosed any info on the warhead arrangement. DF-31 and DF-31A likely carry a single 1MT thermonuclear warhead with penetration aids. DF-31AG is an unknown. DF-31AG may carry 3 or more smaller warheads (20kT?).

3-5 warheads @ 20, 90, or 150 kt each with MIRV

DF-31: One large RV on top of it so no MIRVs.

DF-31A: Has payload shroud what would suggest MIRVs. There is a pic with people standing next to DF-31A and it's payload shroud isn't very large... if it has MIRVs then those RV's must be same size as W78 or smaller, but even if it has only one then that RV must be smaller than what DF-31 carries (perhaps same what DF-21 uses?).

DF-31AG: I'd guess it's just improved DF-31A.
