China and the international system

Hello all

I am new to the site, and my specialism is international relations and strategic studies. I see there are lots of threads on military issues and hardware in particular, but thought it could be interesting to have one on the political/diplomatic/theoretical side of the coin as well, as this is where all strategic defence is based. If anyone has a background in IR theory or the diplomatic history of the region (Chinese foreign policy, etc.), or the US, of course, it could be interesting to approach things from that direction - such as a comparative analysis of unipolar/bipolar/multipolar systems, where we are headed now, predictive theoretical models, game theory, etc!

Regards

Sorry, political discussions are rather frowned upon here.

Hey that's ok! Forget about it - I was thinking more abstract theoretical stuff rather than political, which can be applied to any state in the system, but if that's out of bounds no problem - I just got here! In edit - I just read the sticky about no politics so just forget about this thread. My intention wasn't politics, but IR theory, game theory etc, but I'm happy to stick to military issues.
