Bladerunner have you ever heard "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".

Those illeterate people in China always think that the road in US is paved with gold There is no such thing

The man who saw his son as a passport to the US was not illiterate, and his lifestyle suggested he had reasonable means, and some of the parents in this group had several children. One couple were expecting their fourth.

And I doubt that average Chinese has $300,000 new zealand dollar If I have that much money I will go somewhere else. Hey what kind of future do My Children have in NZ maybe becoming sheep shearer , well maybe tourist guide

When I work in Singapore years ago I met tens of New Zealandar who has to work overseas because there is no opportunity in New Zealand .

You really are showing your lack of Knowledge in NZ
Education: Entry into university without the pressure one has to go through in China. My son befriended quite a few Mainland Chinese students in his engineering classes , and they found the relaxed lifestyle much more enjoyable than China.

Job wise: We might not need too many "electron particle collider thingy " operaters, but if you have the right professional skills that the country wants, then theres very little problem.

Sheep sheering? Farming nots so bad: Id rather be a millionare farmer in NZ (on paper anyway) rather than living in China.

In NZ an unemployed person can get up to $50.000 inflation adjusted annually unemployment/supplementary benefits according to their needs for as long as they remain unemployed, which can be for the rest of their working life as one is allowed to decline an offer of employment. Along with that there is the normal near free education, and medical care. Man life is sweet in NZ.

With $50.000 a year i could stay in bed late, go fishing, sort out all means of entertainment during the day, take a cheap holiday to somewhere in Asia , stay in a 5star hotel and do some shopping. Man life is sweet in NZ.

Can an unemployed person in China do that?

[
QUOTE]Plus I don't like their attitude both Aussie and Kiwi . They think they are superior to Asian in general specially the older generation I guess it come from living close to Asia they see the poverty in Asia and generalized their prejudice, forgetting where their bread come from . Australia's prosperity is [

Personal perception If you go around thinking you are picked on then you probably will be.

Ever heard of "competition breed excellence and entitlement or slacker lead to medicority". China did a good job of quadrupling higher education within short span of 20 years and improving the quality of its university at the same time

Money doesn't grow on the tree and New Zealand is like a rich kid who inherited money from their parents instead of having pride to earn their own living they decide to squandered their inheritance .

How far is New Zealand living standard decline over the year.

I thought you say you come from Holland why did you move from Holland I guess you just can't stand the Tax rate of over 50& Yup your Holland even pay for the unemployed to go on vacation. No wonder they are in such bad shape

Personal perception If you go around thinking you are picked on then you probably will be.

No i like to live a country where I am not considered as second class citizen

You sound like this is something one should be proud of. However, I see the source of a slipping economy and declining society. I honestly don't know what to call a society that encourages laziness. Where is the motivation for hardworking, innovation and risk-taking, the staples for the development of human civilization? I think this is actually worse than communism. At least, people have to work in a communistic society, albeit with little motivation. In a social welfare society like Australia and NZ and many parts in Europe, people actually are actually rewarded for not working and becoming a freeloader. And people are actually proud of it! :nono::nono:

My sister, who is an accountant, lives in Australia and she constantly complains about how little money is left after paying all the taxes and things. It would be better off if she simply quits and takes the welfare. I think the shear pressure of NOT becoming a freeloader (thanks to the constant brainwashing by our parents when we were little) is the only thing that is preventing her from quitting her job. And sometimes, she laughs at how hard we have to work in the States and actually mentioned the same things that you talk about. when i asked her if she wants to move to the States and make a little more money and pay a little less taxes, she thought about it and said "no, I still like it here since I don't have to work as hard". Whenever she says things about this, my parents always shake their heads and say "what happened to all the values we used to teach you?" You see, this social welfare thing is like brainwashing.

Can an unemployed person in China do that?

NO, I don't think anyone can. Nor should they!! A society that encourages people to not work and teaches people that they should be proud of not working and becoming a freeloader has no future.

I must apologise for laughing when I read your above link. which also talks about a developing competency with macs.

Competency with MACS:rofl:
My wifes at Beijing university and they cant even hook her Mac up to the University network/internet system after 2 months even with their best Technicians working on it. She says they are being very apologetic. Back here in NZ her place of work is not MAC friendly but she has no problem. and if there was a problem, my 16yr old kid could have solved it.

And they are using Microsoft word 2003, (the latest sate of art? ... rubbish)
I ended up rather reluctantly buying her a LENOVO, because having bought one about 3yrs ago we found their after sales service non existent.

Don't ever told me that In my younger year I travel far and wide. My prospective bride is Australian Chinese from well to do family. I travel from one end of Australia to the other end alone. What I see doesn't impress me

.

If you want to go down that path. Having visited Beijing recently, I could find more negative things about China, than I could with Australia.

Apropo my girl friend family literaly own large Sheep and Cow farm so for your information I could be one of those sheep owning millioner if I so choose

Hmmmm Look whose claiming something they havent worked for
Anyway welcome to the ranks of the "Capitalist Roader/Running Dogs" if you should so decide.

Well I guess that guy they interviewed "Liu Xingchen, the 56-year-old assistant to the head of Kailu County," is now sitting in a jail waiting to be executed for betraying a state secret.

I think you are the one sitting in a dark room gobbling up Chinese propaganda.

I was once told to, " Never believe what the CCP Says unless there is some strong altenative supporting evidence. Over the years I have found his advice to be 99.9% correct.

I thought you say you come from Holland why did you move from Holland I guess you just can't stand the Tax rate of over 50& Yup your Holland even pay for the unemployed to go on vacation. No wonder they are in such bad shape

You really must improve your English comprehension or stop reading into something that was never said. That way you may not be treated like a second class citizen if God forbid, you decide to settle in Australia. by the way I said

"In Europe there is a stronger culture of renting, Holland comes to mind",

There was never even a hint of having lived in Holland.

Of course not I was being sarcastic, however I do believe in a well provisioned safety net for peoplw wh are down and out for no reason of their own. THats better than the people I saw in Beijing doing menial tasks like shoe mending for 20yuan +
As an accountant, surely there must be some way your sister can reduce her tax liability

Anyway theres three movies on China in the Local Film Festival this week. Im gonna take out my super annuiant discount card and go and see them, especially the one on Beijing
