I'm the 3rd gen Cambodian born Chinese. According to my father, my ancestors were from Mei county, Guangdong province (梅县,广东省)。We no longer have any relatives there.
Nice. Now we're related too. I speak hakka too. We're from Mei Zhou, Guangdong province. But I wasn't born in China, yet I am pretty fluent with the dialect. I am the first generation over seas Chinese.
The only sad part is I am unable to write or read Chinese. :(

My English proficiency is at 100%. My Shanghainese is almost native, about 80-90%; both my parents are from Shanghai (I was born there as well but came to the US as a boy), and this is what I speak to them so I've been able to keep it up. My Mandarin is horrible; I can possibly understand 33-50% of Mandarin dialogue. I took German in high school and university, but I can read/write/speak maybe 10% or less at this point since I never use it anymore.

I'm able to read and write Chinese being a native, but I had to constantly look up how to write certain characters with my phone.

I speak English with an odd mix of about 80% American accent, 15% Chinese accent and 5% British accent. Mostly due to me being a Chinese native, studied in a British secondary & high school, addicted to Youtube since 2008 and currently attending an American college.

Non-Americans (Australian, British, Kenyan, Ethiopian, Scottish) think I speak in American accent, Americans think I have that "American born Chinese" feel and I pronounce certain words like a Brit.

I used to be able to speak a bit of French, since I took it at school up to GCSE level. However, I'm probably unable to remember any/much of it anymore.

My English proficiency is 100% - it's my native language.

I would ideally love to learn a bit of Chinese one day in the future, but at the moment, I cannot read/speak/understand any Chinese at all.
