WASHINGTON (Oct. 20, 2016) Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. John Richardson; First Sea Lord, United Kingdom Royal Navy, Adm. Sir Phillip Jones; and Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force, Adm. Tomohisa Takei, signed an agreement affirming their commitment to increased collaboration and cooperation, following a trilateral maritime discussion, Oct. 20, in the Pentagon. I went on board one of the Bay class a few years ago, the photos don't convey one key aspect about them, they are BIG! Look at the Sea Hawk on the flight deck, it looks like a scale model! Australia scored a real bargain when the bought one to become HMAS Choules, and the three we have left are very handy vessels. A lot of attention gets focussed on LHDs these days, but they aren't the only game in town...
