The ships company, numbering 180 people, has returned from a six-month deployment spanning 11 countries in Africa, central and South America.In February, the frigate completed a 16 month modernisation programme prior to deployment.HMS Iron Duke’s Commanding Officer, Commander Thomas Tredray, said:“This has been a very successful deployment for HMS Iron Duke. We have represented the Royal Navy and the UK around the world, on the high seas and during a wide variety of port visits.”

What will the QE utilize as an in-flight refueling tanker? Have they considered the USA Osprey? It might give the QE an off the shelf refueling capability option.
