The drive is capable of producing thrust several thousand times greater than even a photon rocket and could get to Mars within 70 days or Pluto within 18 months. A trip to Alpha Centauri, which would take tens of thousands of years to reach right now, could be reached in just 100 years."

Now if we can slow down the aging process in humans, we could get to Aipha Centauri in the prime of life

However good the drive it will not produce the thrust to get out of the gravity well we live in so for going to the Moon it is useless.
Using chemical rockets to go to Mars will take about 300 days, with a solar sail you get there in about 90 days so if this methods gets us there in 70 days it is very interesting.

Yeah but solar sails takes awhile to get going because one need enough light particles to hit the sail for momentum.

Yeah but solar sails takes awhile to get going because one need enough light particles to hit the sail for momentum.
Light sails give a slight acceleration but can use that for a long time, while the chemical rockets give a large acceleration for minutes, until their fuel is used up.
EM drive is said to provide a slightly larger acceleration as long as sufficient power is available. If power is provided by solar cells its acceleration will decrease parallel to the loss of thrust provided by the solar sails.

American huntress sparks fury by posting selfie with dead giraffe in South Africa
Sabrina Corgatelli, from Idaho, harnessed the controversy surrounding the death of Zimbabwe’s Cecil the lion to draw attention to her own trophy hunts

An American huntress has sparked fury on social media after posting pictures of herself with the corpses of a giraffe, warthog, kudu and impala during a trip to

to the “trip of a lifetime” to a private conservancy 20 kilometres from the country’s iconic Kruger National Park.

Before her trip, she posted a meme of Leonardo DiCaprio on her wall accompanied by the message: “To all the haters. Stay tuned, you’re gonna have so much more to be p***** off about.”

On July 25, just after it emerged that an iconic black-maned lion named

- Miss Corgatelli began to post pictures of her kills.

Her first showed her crouching over the prone form of a massive kudu, a kind of African antelope with a white-striped body and spiralling horns. “Yesterday, day 1 an amazing day!!! Got my beautiful beautiful Kudu!! It was my #1 want on my list and I got him on the first day!!! Loving it there!!”

Later the same day, she posted several pictures of her with the corpse of “an amazing old giraffe”, and wrote: “Such an amazing animal!! I couldn't be any happier!! My emotion after getting him was a feeling I will never forget!!!”

Other pictures showed Miss Corgatelli, who has pink and black hair and long, manicured nails and wears heavy make-up, skin-tight khaki and pink hunting attire and hoop earrings, celebrating the kill with hands clasped together as though praying.

Another picture showed her with a large, dead warthog with the caption: “What a fun hunt!!! Loving it here!!” and another showed her with a blue wildebeest and an impala which she described as “one of Africa’s icons”.

Miss Corgatelli, a university accountant who also runs a clothing company called Racks and Ridges, also posted a photograph of her boyfriend, named only as “Aaron” with the body of a 13-foot crocodile.

He wrote on his own Facebook page that he had killed two lions in the past two weeks in South Africa, and admitted he had in 2002 killed a

in the same place that he had been killed.

Mr Neilson said that Dr Palmer’s actions were “100% acceptable” provided he was hunting with a legal permit in a legal area – an aspect of the case that has been hotly debated.

He said the issue of ethics should not come into it. “I do get seriously tired of the ‘ethical’ token thrown into the mix,” he wrote. “Who are you/I to determine another man's ethics? We have laws to determine what's right/wrong, ethics are your own to decide!!!”

, himself and his girlfriend Miss Corgatelli on social media, as “uneducated, misinformed, misguided, godless, narrow minded hypocrites”.

“I AM HUNTER! For that I make no excuses, no apologies, I back down to no one, and I hide from it not!” he wrote. “I'm armed at all times, and I'm ready - either step up or shut up!! My money, my time and my efforts go to Lion hunting/conservation, for that I am proud!”

The couple’s posts however prompted a firestorm of outrage from animal lovers. Tens of thousands of people posted on Miss Corgatelli’s profile branding her “deranged”, “heartless” and “the definition of disgusting”.

Her profile also attracted more than 7,000 “likes” however, suggesting some hunting sympathisers among those who viewed it, while Mr Neilson’s commentary was reposted hundreds of times by fellow hunting enthusiasts.

Mr Neilson’s Facebook page was later disabled.

Luis, a spokesman for Old Days hunting firm in South Africa, confirmed he had hosted Miss Corgatelli and Mr Neilson for a two-week trip but declined to comment further.

People like to hunt. Rich people who like to hunt spend their money to hunt in exotic places. This has been true for hundreds of years.

As I have said...and it applies for this woman and the dentist...or any other hunter.

If they have the money and want to spend it that way. If they follow the rules from the US perspective in getting the guides and the licenses. If they then go on the hunt and get an animal. Then they should not be castigated when they get their animal.

If they are found to be violating the law. If they collude with their guides to go after protected animals, etc. Then they should be prosecuted.

If the guides lure protected or tagged animals to the hunters, without the hunter's knowledge and the hunter otherwise followed the rules...then the guides should be prosecuted.

Something entirely different:
The movable part of a bridge was to be replaced in a Dutch town. Before reaching the right place the cranes with the bridge part fell from the pontoon and on houses.
See the BBC item:

If I see it correctly the cranes were not connected to the pontoon, just set on the same supports you would use on land so when they took the bridge part from another pontoon the first ceased to be horizontal and first one then the other crane slid from the pontoon.
One person is injured and in hospital. Search for others continues.

More on the Dutch crane collapse. Amazing video of it happening.

Two cranes on a barge, moving a section of a bridge across a canal, collapsed onto houses in the Dutch town of Alphen aan den Rijn.

The bridge section began swaying and hitting the cranes, causing one of the cranes to list, and then collapse with the bridge onto houses, which then caused the second crane to collapse with them.

At least 20 people were injured in the incident, including several with serious injuries.

A second video shows the destruction after the collapse.

A picture of the destruction.
