A few years ago my fathers flight to Auckand from Dunedin was cancelled at the last minuteso to speak.The cancellation of all flights with no refunds or re-booking, leaving passengers & crews stranded is reprehensible.
He was due to have a major operation the following day at Auckland Hospital.No alternative flight could be arranged so it looked like the operation had to be postponed.However not long after arriving back to where were staying, we received a call from Air New Zealand informing us that they were going to relocate aplane back up in Auckland, leaving at midnight and offered to take us all for free which meant a saving of $800.
Other than the flight and a dozen or so cabin crew. there was noone else on the 737.
