(Defensa.com) Dilma Rousseff After rejecting the credentials of the new Ambassador of Indonesia in Brazil, Toto Riyanto in a quite unusual gesture and motivated by the recent execution of a drug trafficker native of Rio de Janeiro - by the Brazilian government to enact mourning-evaluated and the forthcoming execution of another these days, the order of 16 Super Tucano for the Air Force of China could not be completed, even missing 8 units per surrender.

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, confirmed that his government is studying the possible cancellation of this charge and even speculates not only Avibrás- future orders currently pending difficulties-but by following these incidents deliveries, quite sui generis the world of external relations. In turn, while avoiding referise this policy and diplomatic issues in particular the Indonesian Military Commander, Lieutenant. Gral Moeldoko was clear in stating "if it comes to matters relating to sovereignty, it is better not mess with me".

The Indonesian Air Force is also a user (for now as a coach) Korean KAI KT-1, rival Super Tucano, something cheaper and sharing one of its designers (Eng. Guido Pesotti) as well as the Beechcraft T-34C . Discounting the Brazilian Parliament call room ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence in this matter and related to recent friction between Brazil and Indonesia.

Only 36 now? Before it's means houndred E/F of Gripen. Brazil defence ministry have changes styles by new Gripens.

They are starting out with 36 to replace the Mirage 2000 fleet, plus some. Brazil will need to eventually replace the 54+/- F-5s in its inventory. and after that the 12 A-4s in the Naval inventory and long after that the AMX.

At 5 to 8 aircraft production per year, it will take some time.

Brazil and Sweden begin to negotiate mutual certification of Gripen NG

gripen-ng.jpg

(Defensa.com) The Institute for Industrial Promotion and Coordination (IFI) Command of the Brazilian Air Force, was visited, between 10th and 12th of this month, the FLYGI, military airworthiness authority of Sweden. The goal was to make plans for the Gripen NG fighter certification, the future fighter aircraft of the air forces of both countries.

Both the IFI as FLYGI presented their rules, regulations and forms of work in order to allow mutual recognition of activities related to accreditation and quality assurance of aeronautical products. The topics discussed in the context of an orientation towards a bilateral agreement to be signed between the two institutions.

The closest approach between military certification authorities from both countries will avoid duplication of processes and activities. In addition, the agreement under negotiation will provide the basis for incorporating certification of other projects and acquisitions, if another contract for the purchase of military aircraft or components which engaged aeronáutico- signatures of the two countries was signed in the future.

36 + 40 or 80 Gripens and Super Hornets? Only USA, Finland, Brazil and Australia with Super Hornets if I know rights. 600 builds for next generation jets. Maybe 400 or 500 to USAF. 80 or 40 to Brazil.

Brazil does not have ANY Super Hornets, or Hornets of any kind.

The original Hornet was used and exported to the following:

USA
Canada
Finland
Australia
Kuwait
Malaysia
Spain
Switzerland

The Super Hornet (and Growler) is used or exported to:

USA
Australia

Talk about the Hornet and super Hornet does not belong on the Brazil thread.

As to the Gripen, it is a very good choice for Brazil in giving them both an aircraft they can upgrade their older aircraft to for their Air Force, and also gives them a very compatible aircraft to make available for their future aircraft carriers in its naval varian.

Some experts say Brazil can't buy more 72 Gripen, yes Amigos replace in first Mirage 2000 RDI retired, then F-5 and to finish AMX, this two last modernized, F-5 with Derby get a AAM BVR but he is not a modern fighter.

That is very possible if they use the Gripen to replace all of their legacy fighters.

It would be a good choice to IMHO. Great combination of lower cost and good capability.
