One thing strange... I always seemed to find huge number of Chinese propaganda movie clips from CCTV and stuff like that featuring training of their so-call special forces, snipers, and stuff like that, but couldn't find much or anything on US Spec-Ops like the combat diver, Navy SEAL, Delta Forces. The nearest thing I found is from a movie that actually featured a woman in the Navy SEAL Bud program (forget the movie's name though).

I was wondering if the US actually have any of these clips?

I've seen a few things about Ranger and sniper training on TV, maybe something about SEALs, nothing about Delta or the CIA's Special Activities Division. Those are propaganda, and don't show you anything other than the "cool" parts of training.

A friend of mine is at West Point and on track to be a Ranger, and from what I understand it's incredibly difficult to get in. I talked to a Navy officer recently who works in recruitment and he said that the SEALs are now accepting something like only 2-3 soldiers every 6 months. So the Special forces are extremely competitive.

I don't even speak Chinese and I can tell you don't take everything that video says seriously, just based on how it looks. It's a propaganda piece. Propaganda can sometimes be revealing, but I lack context because I don't have the language skills.
i know if they just showed the actual real training ones instead of these "posers" it would be more enjoyable and realistic. seems more like a promotional thing for recruitment of the bright minded generation to enlist.

wow, hard to believe there people who still lacks the basic knowledge of how CCTV works. these arent even live training shots you are looking at, they are just reenactments, you dont suppose all they did for 7months was running around with an 100kg wooden log do you?

the movie you were talkin about was G.I. jane.

judging from the fact that Canada doesnt even acknowledge the existence of JTF2...yeah its pretty much as hard to get into SEALs as any other special forces around.

If you bother to read my post carefully, I clearly state that those clips from CCTV are propaganda... and in another word, not the actual thing... which also translate to - "I don't believe what those clips show."

People do you really think they'll show you their true training techniques and elite grunts? CCTV like any other international military documentaries or channels are propaganda. Though you can get small portions of information on them that can relate back to the actual troops. The sniper divisions spend alot of time on the shooting range compared to couple years ago when it was mostly all physical training with limited time on range.

If I would be a selector I choose them based on their educational, intellect, health and fitness, performance. Fairly much everything the civilized world has done. What I want to make is a China group of SAS or Delta......

What makes you think that the Chinese do not have those already?

What happened to the rule about no re-opening threads more than 6 months old? Another new member who didn't bother to read the rules again?

The closets Work of fiction I can think of that might have recreations of such training is "The Unit" It's produced by a Former Delta operator.

Okay Let's Play.

First the ground work. seeking a place too begin I would start in the Lanzhou Military Region looking for a Facility pretty much in the middle of Nowhere. I would be wanting access too the local Garrison for use in qualifications and a limited Role in training. Now Comes my first Draft, A officer in charge. I call in Officers known for being trouble shooters and good too there men. My Draft pick though must pass a bit of a Sun Tzu riddle.
I sit him down in my office and Tell Him I have a very special mission for him.
I want him too deliver a High priority package by hand, Too a Office in Taipei City. He and his unit will be air dropped into the Ocean near his destination via Y8 transport they will swim into the bay avoiding hostile patrols Infiltrate the city and make there way on foot to there destination.
Then I ask him if he has any thoughts.

If he Grins and Asks When He leaves... He's not getting the job.

If he looks at me and tells me I am an Idiot.
I think I have my man.
I ask him then how he would deliver this package. If his answer is something simple like dress as a civilian, Disguise the package as luggage and use a Regular flight too land in the city.
He just got Hired.
covert SF when they do the Job right are never heard of. When they screw up they get all the press they never wanted. PR people might want too bring them out but Covert units prefer the shadows
Now My chosen officer takes the Hot seat. His mission is too run my unit too act as recruiter and begin training.

Recruits: NCO's are my priority, People who Think for themselves and are mature enough too know what works and what does not most SF units pic Sargent and Life long Enlisted guys who will be in service a long time and will use What they are about too learn.
Selection will be hard oriented too individuals A basic PT test field marches under particular conditions rifle qual, and navigation exercises.
The last part last but not least, the most difficult of it all A gauntlet. Remember my location? A field navigation exercise I drop my recruits into the desert at night each on his own with a few days rations a basic field kit, a destination a map a compass a secret pass code and a warning one week they have a week and eight nights too avoid capture if they fail things will not be pleasant. the next morning at dawn I let my hounds out the local garrison with orders not too kill but too hunt and capture Non lethal force is allowed and a little rough treatment okay. those captured before six days are up will be subject too interrogation. If they give the pass code they are out. If they hold out or are not captured they are in.

Now begins Training.
Foreign weapons familiarization. AK, SVD, RPK, AR, MP5, Styer, Remington, Glock and more
Demolitions, room clearing, Aircraft Clearing, scuba assault, radio, Medical, Spy field craft, Lock picking, Grand theft Auto, aggressive driving, Vip Security, Sabotage.
Cultural Immersion: Linguistics: Japanese, Korean, Pashtun, Hindu, Filipino, American English. Dress fashions.
You are going too need trainers for this. specialist Lock smiths and cat thieves.
Ex-patriot residence who can teach the proper accent and norms
Field Agents.
Mixed in from time too time will be field Exercises like infiltrating Hong kong blending with the locals. Retrieving targeted data and avoiding detection.
You are looking at two too three years investment.

The end Squad will also include urban Sniping and distance sniping. Not regular PLA Snipping but Western style perhaps adopting the JS762 or a variant there in, Every one will be Pistol Qualified SMG rated and capable of operating a radio.
