    Interesting how both Canada and Australia picked British design for their future frigates. Is the same trend going to follow when America picks it's frigate design? Certainly seems like it.

    That would be difficult as no British Frigate is currently in the FFG-X program.

    I thought it was a tie between a rehashed Zumwalt look a like and something based on the San Antonio class hull.
    Canada and Australia are taking a bit of a chance here though. It is still a paper design.

    that's the cruiser program. He said Frigate!
    Cruiser is a large capital ship intended to more dominate an area.
    Frigate or OHP is a small one intended for patrol, Escourt and scout.

    Impossible ..where as US Law requires all war ships to be constructed in the USA...unless the President of the US declared a National emergency..

    The Oliver Hazard Perry frigates (US design) or known in Oz as the Adelaide class frigates have been good servants of our naval needs, particularly after being upgraded. They have held up the anti air umbrella since the retirement of the Perth class DDG's ( Charles F. Adams class )
