Stop playing stupid (unless you're not playing) and recognize that you mistook momentum for energy in that statement. Acting arrogantly after making such a novice mistake is humorous at best, tragic at worst.
Still not understanding the relationship between conservation of energy and Newton's laws of motion.

What do Newton's laws of motion and conservation of energy have to do with your total ignorance of the difference between momentum and energy?

Guys, a couple months ago I read a news about China's soldier recruit allowances in 2017.
But today I searching it again and found nothing, I am forget which news site, People's daily, China daily, or english China mil news.

Anyone have that news or data regarding Chinese soldier allowances for 2017?
Thanks in advance

@SamuraiBlue is just like that ... pretending to be an expert of everything (with the help of his uncle Google) .. in fact far from it ... when somebody with much better knowledge challenge him ... he just "run" away .. and quiet for a while until someday out oft he blue he "become" another expert of many fields again. Perhaps the best approach is to ignore him, don't waste your precious time :)

I don't think he's playing stupid, but rather he's playing not-stupid, and quite expertly I might add, much in the same manner as Japan playing

Ouch.

Also, very apt description. I'm in stitches.

what extent AND type of the damage do you expect to be inflicted upon a modern (=unarmored) warship by a single hit off a 32 OR 64 MJ railgun (presumably shooting around-5"-caliber metal rods)?

I now checked the kinetic energy of a hit by Mk 7 16" at its max. range had been

0.5*1225*514^2 (don't nitpick if I didn't read out at navweaps.com the striking speed correctly, if it's incorrectly quoted there, or anything)

which is about 162 MJ; I don't try to mix apples with oranges: the main point of hitting by a 16" shell of course wasn't its kinetic energy, but the main point was to deliver several tens of pounds of an explosive under the deck of an enemy ship, and blow up said explosive there (actually if the fuze wasn't set off, the damage made by a large-caliber shells wasn't much worse than just holes in the bottom, as it had been happening in the action of the Yamato against the Gambier Bay, an unarmored escort carrier)

I asked the same question Yesterday at 8:01 PM (through another thread)
LOL no answer, so I add a thought:

a THAAD kill vehicle would deliver ginormous energy (I couldn't find the weight, am guessing 300 kg as one third of the missile
790px-Wfm_thaad_diagram.svg.png
OK?):
0.5*300*2800^2 is about 1.2 GJ (one point two gigajoules)

EDIT I set aside the cost, as it'd appear to be several hundred millions:

"... at an estimated cost of $15 billion, ... Saudi Arabia asked to purchase 44 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) launchers and 360 missiles, as well as fire control stations and radars."

When was the last time that China's navy in big numbers have conducted a drills close to the disputed area of Diaoyu Islands? Do we consider that, in the near future China is gonna make a drill in 24 miles contiguous zone of these islands in view of recent sub surface?
